Does Sawgrass have a coffee place with sitting, and if so what time does it open. Thank you my future friends and neighbors for your help. Will be back for second lifestyle visit next week! 😀
OK, up front I'm a bona fide coffee snob. I've been all over the world sampling coffee and have written about it. My sister runs a small coffee plantation on Bali in Indonesia and sells throughout SE Asia. First, to the best of my knowledge there is not a roaster in TV. On top of that you cannot find good coffee in the Villages with one exception which is The Standard up near the medical complex. They make a pretty good pour over and their beans are roasted here in FL and are fairly fresh, not the stale over-roasted stuff at SB, DD, TimH, etc.

Regarding Kona blends, they are a joke so don't buy them. The Kona Cooperative even sued the chains selling "Kona blends" and won significantly restricting the use of the term "Kona blend". As others have said it's fairly easy to find real whole bean 100% Kona coffee online, but it isn't cheap. There are many reputable online sellers. I now buy all my beans online.

Brewing great coffee at home is easy and very satisfying, and allows the flexibility of experimenting with different single source coffee beans. Purchase a good bean grinder such as a Breville or even a hand grinder (inexpensive), a 6 or 8 cup French press or Hario Pour over system, or even an AeroPress and you're in business. Spend a 1/2 hour on YouTube and you'll learn exactly how to brew excellent coffee. I suggest paying particular attention to those videos by James Hoffmann. Although somewhat nuanced, once you get the process down, which isn't difficult, you will be a highly satisfied coffee drinker. The downside is that you may become a very discriminating coffee drinker so you will be very selective on where you purchase a cup of coffee. I haven't been to a SB or used a Keurig in over 10 years.

Default Kcups

With the advent of K cups, and life getting busier (not retired yet) I have switched to a K cup for my morning coffee (Cuisinart K Cup brewer). I have tried many many brands (even the types mentioned above) but have not found one that is "consistently" good. I try brand xyz and it is great. Brew the next cup of xyz and not so great. The water I use is consistent (spring). Temperature the same but the taste still varies. Do you have any suggestion of a kcup that you like? Thanks.
I too was disappointed with my Keurig coffee and switched back to my Mister Coffee machine. I grind my bean also but didn't like the brew. I think the water in the Keurig just doesn't get hot enough for a good brew. There was always a "foam" on top and seemed not hot enough.

Wawa does have good coffee and convenient as we travel as we can also stop for gas.

Have you tried Fresh Market? They have quite a few selections of whole beans.

There are mail order award winning roasters that are reasonable and extremely good. They bring the bean selection and roasting process to a science. Even if you lived in Seattle or NYC you would still use these sources.
If your serious about your coffee, thats the best way to go.
Then grinding is next and a good grinder can cost from $350 to 3,500
It make a huge difference.
Then the extraction method you follow comes into play. That is a another conversation.
All in all, TV is not the problem, its only the place you can enjoy your conveniently selected choices.
Welcome to TV.
By the the new coffee shop at Saw Grass at least uses legit equipment. The operator makes all the difference and I can’t fairly speak to that.
Even Starbucks had to automate all their machines to eliminate operator control. They just couldn’t get enough people who know what they were doing.

There is a coffee shop at Sawgrass. It's inside in the Market area. It was okay. They offer breakfast sandwiches and bagels 🥯 however they only had bagels available yesterday. There were no stations to add sugar, get extra napkins or whatever else you wanted to put in it so make you you tell them what you want. It would also be nice if they give you a little paper plate to eat off of instead of the table! Enjoy and welcome

Not much of 44 so get ready with no mention of when we will see any stores other than more doctors and financial planners. Get a vehicle with good gas mileage for all your shopping/buying trips north.

You can buy authentic Kopi luwak coffee online with some searching. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time or money. It is uniquely processed but taste-wise it's nothing special. You'd do better spending you money on single source Kona or Blue Mountain. If you do decide to try it buy a lighter roast. Roasting much beyond medium (city roast) will destroy the distinctive flavor and character of any single source variety of bean.

Default Admitted Coffee Snob

When I retired I purchased a Jura Z6 automatic coffee machine. I buy Caribou espresso beans and purchased an Ember 14 oz mug that keeps my coffee at a perfect 142 degrees. Caribou is not in Florida but with a subscription they will deliver and the subscription can be stopped and started without penalty. Some women want diamond earrings... I want a good cup of coffee when I start my day... with nobody talking while I drink it.

Yes. Yes to Peet's Major Dickason's Blend! My favorite.

Mainly, I bought green beans online from Sweet Maria's. They have a varied and constantly changing menu. My favorites came from small fincas in Guatemala. They also offer a few choices of roasted beans.

Sweet Maria's website... click here.

Unless you are drinking it black the coffee doesn’t matter much after adding flavorings
