Instead of ridiculing him on this point wouldn’t it be better to list the restaurants that are making an attempt to keep their customers and employees safe?

What part of this seemingly reasonable explanation was ridiculing?

I believe the point is that mask wearing in the kitchen has little or nothing to do with customer safety.

I also heard that COVID is not transmitted via food. When I first heard that, many months ago, I stopped sanitizing all my groceries. I don’t worry any more about food borne illness with COVID.

What would we do without our at least weekly mask thread! That poor dead horse is just bloody pulp on the ground now. We need a dog poop post for something different to grouse about.

I think the purpose of the original post was to trash Giovanni's.

Excuuuuuusssse me. Where was the ridicule? The post was educational. And why would I want to contribute to a list of restaurants that were doing something completely unnecessary. Better to have a list of restaurants that emphasize social distancing, masks on servers, and even temperature checks

So if the cooks get sick it’s ok as long as it does not get spread to the customers.

Of course not, but that's a different issue. The OP was looking for "safe" restaurants based on whether or not the kitchen staff wore masks. That is a small part of COVID safety in a restaurant

I agree but it still indicates restaurants that are making an effort to follow guidelines which are the ones I want to go to.
