Default Longhorn?

I wanted to get feedback on Longhorn. I have not made it over there yet and wondered what people thought! Thanks for the feedback!

I really enjoy the whole chain of Longhorn rest. I haven't been to the one in Lady Lake yet but I've been to 4 or 5 others. The food is consistently very good. Steaks are cooked as ordered and the sides are very good. Lunch is a relative bargin but the dinner prices can be a little high for a chain ($20+ per entree, steak).

Two very good appetizers - the wild west shrimp (not available at all rest.) and the Firecracker chicken wraps. There cheese fries are good also.

I've been there twice and was very pleased both times. Had the ribs, steak and hamburger (not at the same time, of course). The ribs were spicy and sweet at the same time, the steak and hamburger were black angus beef and let this Texas girl tell you, that's the best beef ever! I recommend.

High marks from this meat and potatoes gal. Have had their steak and their ribs. Both good. Have some friends here who rave about the prime rib. The side dishes are good -- not itty bitty amounts, either, and the veggies aren't all mush.

My husband had and enjoyed the ribs. My rib eye was tough and had sinew in it.

My steak was great and cut like butter. The wife had the hamburger and it was cooked just right for her.

We plan on going back later this month.

I was going to mention the hamburgers but I thought the emphasis would be on steak. I love their hamburgers at lunch - I think it is a larger selection than at dinner. For steak I always get either a fillet or the prime rib. The others, rib eye etc., are hit or miss.

One more thing - If you go to their website: http://www.longhornsteakhouse.com/ and click 'join our club' in the upper right hand corner they send you a free app! During the year you may get other incentives as well.

Thanks for the info. I just joined. I am partial to the lunch version of the NY Strip. Nice and tasty. Anywhere I go, Ribeye' are either great or fatty.

Got my free appetizer certificate. Only good for one appetizer and only one certificate per table. I was going to sign my wife up separately so she could get her own appetizer but with the one certificate per table, I guess we are screwed.

Ah - what the heck. I will sign her up under her own Id and see if we can get two appetizers.

I had already mentioned that and got a resounding "NO".

Went for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Good food, good service. Our table of six handled efficiently by one server, who appeared to have three-four other tables as well.

My bleu/black burger just right. Liked the fries, too!
