CF, I am so sorry they did that to the rest of the table and to you, but you have to feel sorry for the couple who have that kind of attitude. It seems like nothing in their life is right and I am sure this isn't the first time they have acted like this. How sad for them and how graciously you acted. You definitely took the high road. It's not easy to be a class act, but it's also not wrong. Good for you!

Thanks, LTBD. I agree the lady is probably not a very happy person. Maybe she needs a dog or two!

She is a happy person. Thinks of only herself. She deserves only the best.

I would have told her off.

Get off your high horse.

I don't have time for people like this.

No class.

Would have told her so.

In theory I might agree with you, missypie, but to do so would have spoiled the dinners of the entire table, and 6 out of the 8 of us were having a good time. I really think the only ones not having fun were the complaining couple.

Still don't know why they came, unless to get something for nothing.

CF - did you ever see that episode of the Housewives of New Jersey where Theresa flips the table over in the restaurant??? That could have worked.

Default Shame shame

From my perspective, if a "lady" goes into a middle of the line restaurant, wears tons of bling, and has an attitude, she must be very insecure. She wants people to notice her and her poor behavior to make others think she is in control. She must have very low self esteem. Usually when these types are confronted it takes them down a peg or two. I also find that some people that are here for a short time like to throw their weight around...kinda like they own the place and we who live here all the time are lesser people. Thank goodness that, in general, we who live here a lot of the time are very kind people. I couldn't take that kind attitude all of the time. This isn't a stuffy community, it's a very caring and friendly community. I think miss Congeniality needs to go back where she came from.

I'm with missypie on this one. Yep, would have told her off or spilt my drink in her lap. Accidently of course.

CFrance I really admire your self control and how you handled it because that is the right way. Good thing me or missypie were not there, it could have got ugly. Lol

To CF:

This woman made me glad I was not married to her, and had to go home with her and put up with her 24/7. I can only imagine what a horror show, she is at home.

Yikes!!!!! Run for the hills!!!!!

Class is something one has, or doesn't have. if you have class, you can walk with kings and talk to the common people. If you don't have class, you have nothing of value, to give to the world.

I feel sorry for her husband but he doesn't sound like a prize either. Oviously, they have stayed together, so they seem to be oblivious to their conduct and how it affects other people. They deserve each other, as they sound like miserable people. I also feel sorry for their family, as they seem to suck all of the energy out of a room.

Remember - Some people bring sunshine when they enter a room, and some people when they leave. Nuff said........

See, that was what I was thinking when the first couple after us walked in--the ones who moved two seats down so others would not have to climb over them. My instant reaction to them was, Oh, good, they will be fun! Just happy looks on their faces.

And Tippyclubb, we'll take you too next time. I'm always up for a good show, even if I'm too chicken to create it myself!

Maybe she was a hired escort, and he'd never see her again.

I'm just thinking outside the box here.
