Upscale dining in The Villages? Where? Someone hiding it? If it's here, I have yet to find it. There is poor, decent and pretty good, but upscale I have yet to find. I think there is a great opportunity for having a really good place for special occasions, but so far no one has opened one.

Indydealmaker: There are a number of ways to respond. I may be just one of those 50%'ters but why would I spend so much of my disposable income for munchin? My apology on not being clearer with my post but the intent was not in the spending aspect but rather the trade offs and or the opportunity costs lost. We each have our only view as to elasticity, etc. However the Developer is a billionaire not a $56,000 a year guy

Larry Wilson: While traveling through Virginia years was pulled over by troopers for speeding. I wasn't speeding but they had the hammer. Cops directed me to the town and demanded cash for speeding. i ahd to wire home for cash. While waiting I noticed that the judge I had appeared before had his name on about every store in town. Well that's what I discovered with the Developer. he either owns it gets income from it or has one of his business partners employees etc either on the board or elected President thereof. In Europe its called a monarchy

Probably not enough special occasions to support what you are looking for.

They opened an upscale steak house where Gators Dockside is. It lasted only months, no support from residents. To expensive.

Cool

The Villages Commercial website lists the average income of Villagers @ $95,000. If that were truly the case, TV should be able to support "one" fine dining restaurant.

Methinks that the $95,000 figure might be a bit inflated to attract investors...

It has to be high enough to attract another bank along 466!

Food and service was not that great either. Once was enough for me.

I tried Pauly's twice and it just didn't taste like the wonderful Pizza my mouth was used to. I think Pizza is a very conditioned and geographic choice.

Many of you knew the owner and those people should be much more seriously listened to as to the facts of the situation.

I didn't know the owner because their pizza wasn't yummy to my Ohio mouth.

Gracie, who is homesick for LaRosa's and Donatos.
It seems everybody had a better pizza joint back where they came from, I understnd that. We moved here and Left our favorite Phil's , Sals and boardwalk pizza at the Jersey shore back home. They didn't move with us so we went on a quest to find an alternate. Staying on campus I've tried as many as I could find. NOT ONE of them even comes close to our old favs but Paulys was the best FOR US and we like it and will follow them in the move.

Oh to b on the boardwalk in OC NJ with a slice of Mack & Mango......

To ALL of TV: Opinions
To each his/her own.....please allow us to have ours

If your going to post negative things I think you should at least get your facts straight. I mean come on now think about it this is a small business not a franchise or corporation
lets think about the affects this could have on them. They have until the 31st of dec before they move not close or go out of business. I don't believe that is in their vocabulary. And WOW look they re-opened in 5 days.
