Default Anniversary Dinner?

Hubby and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary in a couple of weeks at our home in The Villages! Any suggestions for a good restaurant to celebrate? Perhaps a place which includes live music/entertainment?

We were visiting in June and went to Nancy Lopez for our 37th anniversary dinner. We were very, very happy with the choice. No entertainment (at least the night we were there) but the ambiance was very good, and the food and service were excellent. Also met another couple (FROGS) who were celebrating their anniversary there the same day, (although they have been married a lot longer than we have) and they mentioned that anniversary dinner at NL has become somewhat of a tradition for them We hope to make it an annual occassion next year as FROGS ourselves! Just need to sell this house in VA!

We are in Providence Forge, which is half way between Richmond and Williamsburg. We live in a very nice golf community called Brickshire. I retire in February, and we're hopeful it won't be too much longer than that before some golfer falls in love with the house and location (we're on the course) and gives us the chance to move to "The Bubble".

Lopez for sure...we've celebrated the last 3 anniversaries there and always had excellent service and dinner. Be sure and let your wait person know it's a special occasion.

Congrats on your upcoming anniversary. If you plan to eat "on campus," here's another vote for Lopez for dinner. You might want to check to see what entertainment will be where that night, and go there after dinner.

Lopez. That is where we celebrate our anniversary every year. No better place.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Our anniversary is actually on a Monday night, we have been to the show twice, the last time in July. We are considering it, trying to not get in a rut though! We know there is so much more out there to experience.

Any suggestions in the surrounding communities would be great also!

Some of our favorites for special occasions are:
Goblin Market in Mount Dora
Mark's Prime Steakhouse in Ocala
Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa
Seasons 52 in Orlando

If you are not familiar with it I would suggest searching through The Villages Gourmet Club web site and look at the notes and reviews of various restaurants to see if any catch your attention.

A couple of upscale choices, both excellent for an Anniversary Celebration:

Mark's Prime Steakhouse in the Ocala Town Square (Excellent/Expensive)

Jeffrey Paul's Chophouse in Eustis Fl. Great Food, Great Service, Expensive

After some five and a half years here, I finally made it to Lopez Legacy for dinner, last night.

Wow! I was absolutely blown away! Terrific ambience! Beautiful views! Friendly service!

Monday seems to be "surf & turf" night. Had, after an appetizer of 'shrimp cocktail,' a multifaceted appetizer, "Lobster Al Turno," which blew me away! Then, "two lobster tails," or one tail and one lamb. Wow! Ww!

My wife and I had our 30th anniversary yesterday. We got a contract on our house on Friday, but there are a few little things that have to be finalized before we can breathe easy. If all goes as planned, we should be in TV on Nov. 1 or 2. We're planning to come down and pick out our house on Sept. 28 and take a few extra days to just look around. We did not have a celebration dinner yesterday, so we will be doing some celebrating sometime after the first of November.

Looks like Nancy Lopez is the place to go, unless someone comes up with some place better. If everything goes as hoped, we should be in our new house in Pennecamp by Christmas.

Ouch! Now I'm hungry and homesick for TV. What's a girl on a diet to do?
