Default Rusty duck

One of the ambassadors at the executive courses mentioned a new one on me.....Rusty Duck just on the west side of Inverness. Said that it has a non-descript exterior....pink stucco with weeds growing up the sides...but the food is excellent and you need reservations.

Can anyone give us an appraisal?

Go this this website. http://thevillagesgourmetclub.home.comcast.net

Then scroll to the bottom of page and hit restaurants outside the villages. Then at the top of that page, hit the letter "r" and it will take you to a critique of The Rusty Duck.

We had dinner there about a month ago with a friend. The lobster bisque is the best that I have ever had. I had the rack of lamb and it was delicious. Enough left over for lunch the next day. Our friend had the prime rib which was humongeous. We all sampled it and it had a garlicky-onion flavor that was very tasty. We brought our own wine and were charged $1.50 per person corkage fee. Our entrees were about $25 each, but soup and salad are included, although there was a $2 extra charge for the bisque. The soup that is included is chicken with rice, but it's totally different from any that I have ever had. Well worth the drive.

Default RUSTY DUCK - thanks for the review

I had already gone to the gourmet web site, but I wanted to hear from someone who had recently dined there. Thanks for the review....I will definitely put the Rusty Duck on my places to visit as soon as I return from my vacation at Oak Island, NC, and mission trip to The Dominican Republic with my church. Should have a ravenous appitite by then.

Rave reviews from others

We should get a gang of TOTV'ers and reserve the whole place some weekend.

I know you are loving Oak Island, NC. Only place in NC where the coast faces south. The water temps are like the Gulf of Mexico. I live there in the summer and TV in the winter. Best of both worlds thanks to hubby.

I have eaten there twice. The Rusty Duck is outstanding! It's like a Cracker 5 star restaurant in the middle of nowhere that looks like a shack. In fact, you have to look hard because of the growth. Inside is a treasure trove of excellent food....
