We also miss Goetta. Perkins used to offer it in Zinzinatti.

Guess we will have to bring back a cooler full.

Anyone know what Goetta is on this forum?

"Goetta"? sounds a bit like "goat".... LOl However, we LOVE scrapple, and it is available at Publix. Delaware has great scrapple "Marie's" brand being our favorite. The breakfast meat is affectionately called "crapple" in our family.........

I do Y'know it's not that difficult to make from scratch. I don't think I'd trust most restaurants to do it.

Don't know what scrapple is.

That's why I don't trust restaurants or supermarket ready made.

Default Definition

Curiosity got the best of me, so I looked up the definition.....

"A collective term for the entrails and organs of a butchered animal. Examples include organs such as tripe, tongue, intestines, brains, liver, kidneys, and thymus glands (also known as sweetbreads). Although many cultures (such as American food culture) have traditionally shied away from eating offal, mixed-organ meats have become more prevalent at restaurants and in butcher shops. Because some organs can contain dangerous bacteria, they must be handled with care to be eaten safely."
It is then ground, mixed with cornmeal and spices, sliced and fried.

It sounds like a few steps down from Spam.

"Spam is a canned precooked meat product made by the Hormel Foods Corporation. The labeled ingredients in the classic variety of Spam are chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, and sodium nitrite as a preservative."

There is nothing wrong with Spam. It is tasty and can be served in a variety of ways. It is also a big seller all over the world.

My mother would slice, bread and fry Spam and then pair it with Franco American spaghetti-that was some nasty ****.
