I just read on the "Chop House" thread that there is NO SMOKING on the Chop House patio. I personally did not experience that but just reporting what I read. If that is true......I will be one happy camper to dine outside during the cooler months here in The Villages.

Good! A first class establishment should not allow smoking on the premises, inside or outside.

City Fire has a great location to sit outside at the large corner bar. But even if you find a relatively non smokey seat chances are a smoker will soon sit near by. So the option to have a drink and a bite to eat there is non existent. I doubt that I am the only one who would gladly sit there with a no smoking policy.

We had the occasion to walk past City Fire in LSL, my throat almost slammed shut from the tobacco smoke ,I had an asbestos exposure (from the navy) and that is a fuse to a cancer bomb /per my Dr--He said" the asbestos is the dynamite and the nicotine is the primer"

I don't think it will happen. City Fire is about loud music, heavy drinking, and smoking, not food.

No pets either I hope

I bet some Villager will come up with a service vest for their pack of cigarettes

I think well behaved pets are fine on patios. I take my 10 lb Havanese to patios and he lays down under my chair. You would not know that he is there.

Hardly the higher end crowd that would replace them.

Yes. That is their highly profitable market and they probably want to keep it that way. Profit on booze at bars and restaurants is very high, much higher than on food, and a heck of a lot less trouble to prepare and serve.

I like that all of the FMK restaurants and Country Club restaurants are non smoking on the outside areas. That is a real plus to me. I like City Fire, but go inside. I park a block away and can smell it. Maybe they could post an area for non-smoking and have a fan directed to blow it away from that area. Also, all restaurants should have non-smoking near the doors into their establishments. The smoke comes right in or you have to walk through the stink. I pity the bartenders.

Anywhere food is served should be non smoking.
