Have helped make ice cream since a child. Old fashioned cooked base, with fresh cream poured off the top of milk bottle, then crank bucket, with ice salt. In my teens my first purchase was an electric ice cream bucket, not as much work, but texture definitely not the same.

I now have a super fancy European maker than is just a push of a button, still using grandma’s recipes. Frozen yogurt works just as well. It’s as close to hand cranked as a child. Very cautious on what goes into our food.

Once I had a DQ, Culver’s custard, and twisty freeze. No thanks it’s the texture and additives that just are off putting. But I am guessing many don’t have the experience of handmade ice cream.

I asked for " Soft Serve Ice Cream " & Typically most of the replies 98% of them offered up " Custard ", " Yogurt ", & " Nonsense ".
I have tossed in a white towel.

The only major seller of "soft serve ice cream" in the US, is Carvel. All other chains I know of, sell "soft serve" ... which isn't "ice cream", because the fat content is below 10%.

There are supposedly (2) Carvel's in Orlando. They would be the closest source for "soft serve ice cream".

Carvel is the best soft serve I've ever had, with Culver's soft serve custard being #2.

I know Culver's is not ice cream but custard. I looked up the fat content of Culver's and it is 10%. I thought custard had more fat content than that.

I think the 2 Orlando Carvels are both in the airport, in case you are planning a field trip. FYI

The Villages had two Carvels. They opened, closed, re-opened and closed for good. All in the same location where Jersey Mike's is now across from Bamboo Bistro in Target's Plaza.
