I lived in Oak Park not too far from Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks.

Yes! But I would even be happy with a Jack in the Box.

Anyone remember Monterey Bay Canners seafood restaurant? Fresh grilled over mesquite wood. Miss them.

Love Oak Park! We went to St Max Catholic Church for a few years but had been St Jude parishioners prior to that because our kids went to school there. Our favorite Mexican restaurant was Margaritas Mexican Grill, which we were just talking about recently. Hubby looked it up and said it looks like it’s closed. Bummer! We had hoped to go there in December when we’re there for Christmas with our kids and grandson.

When hubby and I first started dating in 1975 he picked me up one night for dinner and when I asked him where we were going he said he was taking me to a fancy french restaurant, Jacques n zee box, and yep, that’s where we went. 😂

Then smashed, and flipped, and cut in half and served with a half-sour pickle on the plate, a handful of mundane ordinary french fries, and a 4-bite side of cole slaw. Bonus points if it's marbled rye.

Anything else is heresy of varying degrees.
In my world putting swiss cheese or any cheese on pastrami is a big no no. Only thing on pastrami is mustard. The pickle is welcome to come but on the side but should be a sour pickle.

Cheddars! I agree Cheddars would be a nice addition to The Villages.

They have Skyline Chili in Orlando, would be nice to have one here.

Not a restaurant, but would love to find a local restaurant that makes Cioppino like Sotto Mare in San Francisco. Had it there about 10 years ago and thought it would be something I could find in the NJ/NY area when I lived there. Never could.

Any suggestions? Short of making it myself?

I agree... Unless you're having a "Rachael". Then swiss cheese, russian/thousand island dressing and sauerkraut is required...

Thank you NY'ers and mid-westerners for hijacking the thread back to your own food preferences instead of letting Californians have some representation.

I enjoy Pacific Sand Dabs. Woody's Wharf prepares them nicely. Woody's Wharf - Food Menu

The Crab Cooker in Newport Beach is a fun restaurant. Haven't been there since its renovation though. Fresh Seafood Menu in Newport Beach and Tustin: Order Pickup - The Crab Cooker

Sand dabs! OMG! Used to catch them off the pier at Hermosa Beach in the 50's. And dive for abalone.

Born and raised in Santa Monica then out to Buena Park for high school. Lived in several places in Orange county then up in the high desert in Lancaster. Way too many restaurants to list. All my family is still out there, we go back.out every year or so to visit.
