Rose Bud....the diner car, still there last I looked but attached to a brick and mortar establishment. Jumbos was a tough bar in its day....its relation to Tufts stopped at its mascot theme!

You are 100% right. Oakwood doesn't smoke ribs, they take boiled ribs and grill them over a flame. That is NOT BBQ.

Terrible.

I loved The Guess Who, especially the Cummings Bachman time. I'm trying to recall a movie Cummings made but it wont come me. I'm afraid I've got a touch of dementia showing its face at times

Can one BBQ really be that much different from another?

Wow...every time I go to Oakwood there are crowds of folk there who like unsmoked, boiled, grilled "terrible" ribs. Imagine if they were good...you'd never get in.

I knew it was inevitable on TOV to have a snarky reply about the salad bar. It happens every time. I have the same reaction when I see portly patrons chow down on steaks or pizza.

There are two primary reasons why some people enjoy salad bars
1. There are many fat laden items to choose from.
or
2. My reason. There are far more healthy items such as greens and vegetables to choose from than on the menu.

In the case of lettuce there are only 100 calories per pound. If I tried to eat that much lettuce from a menu the bill would probably be four or five times more.

I will confess though that on rare occasions I will go to an all you can eat restaurant and pig out. Then the Derisiveness is deserved.

C'mon..."snarky, derisiveness"...don't you know this is Florida's friendliest Hometown? That would NEVER happen here.

I propose that anyone that uses ‘snarky’ or ‘curmudgeon’ on this forum...should have to put $1 in a jar. Similar to a swear jar!

I guess it’s just another generations way of saying ‘whatever’!
