Not saying the uninformed and uneducated about BBQ may like it. They probably think Olive Garden is high-end Italian food.

The only Sonny's BBQ near The Villages is on Canal Street at Lake Sumter.

In N.Y.C. there are restaurants almost on every block, some are good, and some are bad, but most close due to rising rents.
If it is the latter, the very restaurant you love might be next.
Restaurants are a tough biz and will always be tough. Too many people think they can get in and fail miserably

Chaos. Wait staff seemed always seemed to be in a state of confusion.

Never had a manager cruise by and ask how was everything. OK, the guy/gal should be busy bussing tables.

Too cheap to hire a busboy.
IMAO; wait staff should never remove a glass or plate from a table, nor clean a table.
Let the wait staff give the best service possible.
Many local restaurants could use this advice. Yeah, laugh.
I was a busboy. My job was to bust my butt, especially preparing tables for the next guests. While guests were there; never an empty plate on a table - especially on the edge.
I'd get tips from the waitresses (yeah, they were all female - obsolete term? - ToughS)

Hit and miss food. Sometimes good, sometimes not. Sometimes hot, sometimes cold. Sometimes what I'd consider too greasy to eat, sometimes, not.

Got a pitcher of beer recently. I could feel the pitcher was hot from the dishwasher. Mugs, not freezing cold - err, not even refrigerated.
Mortal sin.

Suicide

Time for Oakwood or someone similar to move in.
Oakwood would be a good choice. Problem is that no parking will exist on their special day, Tuesday

Terrible.

Actually most ribs are steamed or cooked in a pressure cooker in most BBQ places. Real BBQ takes a lot of time, patience and much more costly as they need to be cooked way in advance

Real BBQ takes the time. That makes it real BBQ. Oakwood is not real BBQ. The closest to legitimate BBQ round here is iBBQ Express.

Artman Country Smokehouse is the best BBQ around TV in my opinion.

IBBQ is inconsistent IMO.

Thus the reason they sell a $6 meal.
I disagree that it’s much too costly....I know many BBQ establishments, not franchises, family owned that not only do it ‘low and slow’ but do so very competitively on pricing. Granted theyre in my home state but even here in FL I can guarantee there are many that do it sans ‘boiling and pressure cooking’. But as others stated many times....you can’t change people’s minds on authenticity. Some think Olive Garden is representative and some think Sonny’s is. They’re not

"Every time I go to Oakwood". You say it's "Trimble ", but you keep going back?. Must be a glutton for punishment.

Sonny's! Haven't been in a long time. My favorite thing was the Brunswick stew. Only place I’ve ever had it, so I enjoyed it. No major loss for us. Still, don't like seeing places close.
