Default Katy bells vs Golden corral

Kids took us today to Katy bells for fathers day, the Buffett at Golden Corral wuld have been better,,, and most certainly cleaner and smelled better,,,, the smell in restroom was like a porta potty... Restroom was filthy....when the new square opens SS will be a ghost town. Gotta wonder how much they are losing each month on that white elephant.

Just the thoughts of a proud Americian on fathers day
Hail to the red white and blue!

I doubt if SS will ever be a ghost town.

We also had breakfast at Katie Belles and found the food quite enjoyable. I had an omelet made to order with tomato, onion, mushroom and cheese and chose the yummiest bread pudding I have ever had from the buffet along with fresh fruit, grits, and bacon.

Everyone had something different and we all four had coffee and the bill before tip was thirty eight dollars and change.

It was the first time we had gone there for the breakfast buffet. Our server was Sharon, and she was a wonderful server. Seeing Sweeties eggs didn't get served to him immediatly, she sent them back before they were served to him and had a replacement in minutes.

It is so funny how the same place will bring different reactions to different people. We strolled by Luigiono's and checked out their menu and I had thought the prices were higher. We saw Harold Schwartz land bound in his pool until the improvements are finished...and stuck our heads into the church on the square so daughter one could see where we go for many a wonderful evening of fine music.

I think things will be just as nice next year and it is good that the first square is being improved. Makes me think someone is thinking of everything.

BTW - If it becomes less crowded, the more pleasureable it will be to visit.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I often go to katy belles for breakfast and dinner. There breakfast menu and prices are great. Lunch, with entertainment and very efficient wait staff always make it a pleasurable experience. I also like spanish springs entertainment, shops and restaurants. I doubt that the new square will impact spanish springs. There is room for lots more business to flourish in both places.

Another proud American here who happens to like Katie Belles brunch buffet AND Golden Corral's. TOTV anxiously awaits your harsh critique of more dining spots in the area.

Living on the LSL side there is very little reason even now to visit SS. When we do go to SS, i never have to fight any crowds. With the third square almost ready ,SS will have even fewer visitors, unless something dramatic takes place very soooooooooooooooooon.I guarantee you the developer and store owners in SS don't feel a less crowded square is more pleasurable.

You should visit Spanish Springs more often. It has it's own flavor and it is quite as nice in it's own way as Lake Sumter Landing. If you never have to fight any crowds there, you must not have gone during the season. With the population increasing as we spread to the South, we will have three places for all of us and what fun to travel in our golf carts between the three. My favorite part of Spanish Springs is the Church on the Square.

The Church on the Square is the most surprising place. I thought it was a church-church but it is predominantly a venue for all kinds of musical groups at very reasonable prices. Harold Schwartz Foundation or fund partially funds much of the music performed there. I do not mean to downplay the church services held there at noon on Sunday but it was made to look like the church that is always a part of a Spanish Village and is used for music as it's primary function. I lived here for two years thinking it was all religious music and it is not.

I HOPE I have not offended anyone with this explanation. I am not against churches of any kind.

Villageshooter, I hope you didn't convey your disappointment to your children. When I take someone to a restaurant and all they do is complain I'm sorry I bothered. Hope you at least acted appreciative.
