I'm new to this site, but I must say you are all one witty group of people--both those who love and those who don't love dogs. I shall remember to keep my dogs out of your yards so you don't put me on your naughty list.

Great thread. You all had me laughing out loud. Funny bunch. Based on your recommendations, I'll take my little dog to the patio at Square 1 for a burger and let you know how it was. He loves chicken patties.

I have no problem with well behaved dogs being allowed to sit with their owners on the patio. Most owners I have observed tend to keep their pets under control and away from other patrons which is more than I can say for a lot of parents and their kids who eat out. I agree with those that have said if you don't want to be around dogs you can eat inside. Complaining about someone have a pet in this area is like sitting in the smoking area and then complaining because someone is smoking. If you want something to complain about lets talk about people talking on their cell phones during their entire meal!

I agree. Especially, since an emergency notification can get through to the intended with a relatively innocuous text message.

I don't want to hear people's conversations on cell phones in restaurants. However, not everybody can do text messaging--either they don't pay for that feature, or older people especially don't feel comfortable with using it. I think calls have to come thru and it's up to the customer to use some manners and walk out of the dining area to talk.

Yes, they can put their cell phones on vibrate and leave the restaurant if they get a call. But what did they do before cell phones? Never go out? We lived for decades without cell phones. Heck, we lived for decades without answering machines!

Ideally, you are correct that there would not be a problem with cell calls coming through in a restaurant if people were courteous. However, that ship seems to have sailed long ago. "Me Me Me" is the rule of the day.

A device for people who can't make decisions.
You ask it any question and it comes back with "Yes", "No" or "Maybe". That's an answering machine - I think I used to have one. Skip |
