As for mentioning it to the manager.....from my experience working in a couple of restaurants, the manager seldom cares. Note I said seldom, not never. You could talk to the owner, but he/she really should already know what's going on in their business. You may get some satisfaction, and maybe a comp meal, but it shouldn't be the customer's job to do quality control, and there is an excellent chance that after you leave, you will be scoffed at. |

Are we that incapable of making decisions for ourselves? Apparently the community on TOV believes it is the customers job to do quality control, there would be no point in posting grievences on here otherwise. You want to talk about an exercise in futility? Let's look at the loose lipping and bad mouthing that goes on here. Self gratification is all it is, it accomplishes nothing. |

Potsie - yes, I did mention it to the manager and he was about as indifferent as one could be. As for being capable of making my own decisions, yes, I can and my decision was to avoid Taverna Red. The group organizer was fully aware of the circumstances and was surprised at the manager's response (or lack thereof). I'm not sure why the organizer is so devoted to the restaurant. But, since I'm not willing to take over the group, I make my attendance decisions accordingly.

Most if not all of the restaurants in the Villages including the Country Clubs Cater to the Villages palate.
This comment comes every time management is asked, plus with very few exceptions the owners are clueless. The food is bland, tasteless, run of the mill that you find in any airline terminal. OK now why ?? Simply put they do not want to chance it, the sheer numbers here dictate that if they lose 6 diners they gain 6 or more back. People want to go out to dinner no matter what, so they keep going out hoping against hope that dining experience will be fine, only to learn once again disappointment. Hey but it was a night out right. That in a nutshell is it. The sheer numbers that the Villages has the restaurants have zero problems meeting their profit margin, hence ya got the shrug your shoulders attitude, and go to the next establishment hoping that it will be different then the last disaster or better put " Disappointment ". Even the so called Country Clubs have basically run of the mill menus, that lack originality, and always the comment comes back we cater to " The Villages Taste ". So life goes on I accept it for what it is dull, lacking in imagination, bland, and one or two steps above hospital fare, and pretty much what you find in any airline terminal. |

Unfortunately I have to agree. We will go to Bonefish and Carrabas, which are a step above the country clubs, but for special occasions we head to Ocala or even Orlando.

We had dinner there once too. Terrible service and the food was so-so. We finally got our bread after the meal and we even had our bill when the bread arrived. The server was one of the worst.

Apparently the formula, listed by billethkid, wasn't good enough to "Make a Profit"?? I really agree with him, about wanting to care.
