Default Speckled Beans vs O'Shea Sports Pub

Speckled Beans used to be quite crowded especially on Sundays. I liked their southern fried chicken. We returned on Sunday to O'Shea. It wasn't crowded. Their shepherd's pie was pretty good and my wife's chicken pot pie was O.K. She said she doesn't need to return for a while and I have to agree. Hope it is crowded during the major sport events and guess we need an Irish pub in TV. Have been writing about TV restaurants in Trip Advisors with the hope that there will be more good restaurants and varieties will come about in the future. When Bonefish is considered the best in town, we'll have a long ways to go. We love Bonefish. Don't get me wrong but if chain restaurant is the best in town, I do worry and I am a foodie.

Still on my list of places to visit but after all of the reviews the desire gets lower and lower.

Prices OK but service was extremely slow, not by servers but the kitchen staff. Story was new people on staff. 2 hours for food with restaurant less than half full and very few at bar, ridiculous,..... the irish stew an insult to my irish heritage. Used to like O'Sheas but won't be going back for a while.

In the beginning when O'shea's opened, i thought finally a Irish Pub in town to get Lamb stew, shepards pie and all those typical dishes I enjoyed on the old sod, how wrong I was.

Servers are awful, and cooks don't have a clue on how to cook Irish !

The Guinness was good, can't ruin that!

I doubt if that business can survive with the food and servers as they are, there only salvation is the Bar business.

Just left trivia night at O'Shea's...had fun and the food was amazingly good! We shared at our table so I was able to sample shepherd's pie, pork BBQ sliders, and prime rib sandwich...all were excellent! Also they now have homemade potato chips that are out of this world...can't wait to go back

I love O'Shea's. The staff, the service, the food and the people we have met there are fabulous. We drive from the north end of the villages to go there. We can go to Ocala in the same amount of time, but we return to O'Shea's often.

My husband and I went to O'sheas yesterday for lunch. Not good ! I had the special , which was a turkey sandwich on toast. The toast was not toasted and yes I did say something to the waitress, she said the toaster was not working very well. My husband had a sausage dog on a pretzel bun. He could hardly eat it , it was so hard ! The fries were so greasy he could not eat them. I wish the owner was around or the manager, we would have said something. Oh Well , we did try it but I do not think we will be back.....
