Default Orange Blossom Hills Country Club - not good service

Four of us had dinner at Orange Blossom Gardens this past Sunday. They were not busy at all. The waitress acted like she was doing our party a service to wait on us. And we were all very polite to her. Maybe she was having a bad day. I would think in the slow season she would be glad for the business. Don't know if I would go back there again as my dinner (steak) was OK, not memorable. My friends also said their dinners were just OK.

Might have been the day of the week or the position of the moon. Sorry but never had the problems you allude to. Then again, a few drinks may have helped cover the illusion of poor service.

Could be. Out of the 4 of us, only one had an adult beverage.

We went there for Sunday brunch once in Feb. It was "moderately" busy, not too bad, and the hostess(es) treated us like we were invisible even when we were the only ones left standing there to get seated.

When workers chat and joke around with "the regulars" while newcomers are standing there like they're invisible, it makes you feel like an outsider whose business is not wanted. That's how we felt. Finally I asked the snippy young hostess again for a seat for 2 and she acted like we were interrupting her personal time (nobody else was at the hostess stand).

One thing bad right there was that they had the broom, mop, dust pan leaning against the wall, and trash can was right out in the open beside customers at the hostess stand. It was dirty around there.

She took us to a table close to then buffet line where the omelets were being made. Well, that was bad because one of the cooks making omelets seemed to have quite a following of groupies, and he was LOUD and obnoxious (he thought he was funny)....and was showing off constantly. He was a nuisance.

Our table top was sticky and gross and we waited and waited for a server to come so we could ask for it to be cleaned. That finally was done.

Food was okay but the whole place was sort of trashy. Nothing like Tierra del Sol or other country clubs here. We won't go back, mainly because the hostess and waitress seemed to not want our business.

Default Ownership of Orange Blossom Hills CC?

Wonder who owns Orange Blossom Hills CC? Tonight at Mallory Hill CC I asked the bartender which CC restaurants were owned by The Villages. She said Cane Garden and I believe she mentioned one other, but I can't remember which one. My favorites: Mallory Hill, Cane Garden and Nancy Lopez.

When we went there one time for omelets, breakfast, the omelet was wonderful...but I have to admit the fat globules were practically hanging in the air and when I got home I smelled like grease. I thought later that they needed a better place to prepare the omelets that had an updraft to vent out the grease and stuff.

I felt that way too, I lovetv, but I thought at that time, they must recognize their "regulars" which would be nice for the regulars I guess.

I thought maybe it might have been an "off day" for me...or for them.

It must be hard to keep everything looking spiffy, with all the traffic they get in restaurants here, but most achieve it, I must say AND most places have wonderful, hardworking and very astute servers. I couldn't do their job, I would be bopping people with trays in a short spell.

Believe villages owns the Orange Blossom facilities (restaurant, golf course, pro shop, pool, etc) but leases out the restaurant and it's operation to an independent business person. Informed that all country club restaurants operate this way with the exception of Cane Garden (operated by the villages). Hope this helps............

We've eaten there a couple of times. The wait staff was friendly - no complaints there - but the food was adequate at best. This was the feeling of all at our table. I can't say I wouldn't eat there again but I won't be setting any land speed records in beating a path to their door for dinner anytime soon.

We tried to go for lunch 2 weeks ago. The young lady behind the bar gave us the one over! then turned and ignored us the young lady hostess watched us for a few moments then said, 'what do you want?' 'er, lunch,' i said. With that she said we are not open and walked away. Miss Grumpy or what. A little curtesy woulkd not have gone astray. We will NOT be returning.

After my experience last month, I won't be quick to return to Orange Blossom Hills CC for lunch or dinner. With all of the restaurant competition in TV, I wonder how this place stays in business when customers are treated that way.

They have the worst hostesses I have ever encountered. Rude, sloppy looking and nasty. I will say the food we have had has pretty good but can you imagine the business they would have if they got the right help, cleaned and remodeled. It could be a gold mine!
