You are safe. I am sure that they would never build a McDs in any town square. Not to start anything but I would take a McDs over Johnny Rockets any day.

It is an example of how well run the Morse restaurants are. I imagine they will have another great one open in the new Town Square, let me think...what might they call a restaurant in a place called Paddock...

Any ideas?

The Veranda is indeed unique. Panera's reminds me of the Marathon Grills that are located in train stations! I suppose that when Brownsville (?) is built, it will become the new sales center and they will dessimate LSL like they did the La Reina building. Oh, well, progress it is. There surely is something "off campus" that will give us the unique feeling of the Veranda, perhaps The Plantation?
And Z, you are so correct. Johnny Rockets is a step down from McD's and I had always thought that McD's was the pits!

Default Veranda vs Panera

If only Panera would invite the thought of keeping the unique decor of The Veranda. When they take over, it will only become another fast food restaurant with blah decorations on the walls. All the charm we loved will be gone.

Unhappy The Veranda

My husband and I enjoyed having lunch at the Veranda. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, the atmosphere cozy and the chairs were so comfortable. We are very disappointed to hear that we will not be able to enjoy going to The Veranda on our next visit to The Villages. So Sad!

i wonder if villages businesses are required to submit plans to an architectural committee as we residents are required to do before we make any significant change to our property...hmmm....

It doesn't have to be a "cold winter day" to enjoy a good bowl of soup!! :-)

Default Veranda to lose 50 quality employees

We just got back from a Lifestyle visit to TV. We have ALWAYS enjoyed the charm of the Veranda, either at breakfast or lunch, overlooking the town square. We, too, were saddened to learn of its Sept. 12 closing. A waitress told us 50 employees would be let go, and doubt they would fit the need for Panera.

We commented that a better fit would be for Panera to replace Johnny Rockets, and let the Veranda continue. Of course, our suggestion doesn't count.

The Veranda added to the appeal of LSL. It will be missed.
