"Best" is relative.
On a scale of 1-10 where do you rank Red Lobster?
Once we have some calibration you will get good feed back.

A great place for scallop is Arnold Palmer's scallop salad with Chardonay dressing. I don't eat shrimp but enjoy scallop.

IMHO it is the best scallop salad in the Villages.

Default Gulf Coast Bucket

I really like the Gulf Coast Bucket at R J Gators, fried shrimp, clam strips and a piece of fried fish with fries and cole slaw. Served with tartar and cocktail sauce and the portions are large.

We used to have a fish restaurant in Spanish Springs shopping plaza (then moved to where Dunkin Donuts is off of rt 441) that served Fresh Haddock, but for some reason, went out of business. Plenty of places serving haddock, but it's frozen.( not FRESH) People who come from the New England area, usually know the difference. Scallops are a different story. There's a little seafood restaurant off of rt 44 (past I 75) on the right hand side that serves delicious scallops. Not sure if it's called Seafood Restaurant, but its about 5-8 miles past I 75. I'm sure there are other places for someone to mention too.

If you don't mind a drive and prefer a non-chain restaurant.
Dixie Crossroads in Titusville.
The Catfish Place in St Cloud.
Clark's Fish Camp in Jacksonville.

Try Hacienda Hills Country Club on Friday nights for their All You Can Eat Fish and Chips for $10.99. Chef Brian is excellent and the breading on the fresh fish (not frozen) is light and not greasy at all.

Their Lobster Tail Special ($22, I think) are twin lobster tails and are even better than those served at Lopez Legacy Club. I believe the Lobster Tail Special is Saturday at Hacienda Hills.

I will have to take Mrs. Buggy to Palmer for that Scallop Salad. It sounds delicious.

Haven't been here but have heard that this Restaurant is owned by a family from Boston (home of the World Series Champions Boston Red Sox) and offers New England style seafood. It's in Celebration and it's called:

Celebration Town Tavern
721 Front St, Celebration, FL

Hacienda Hills CC when they advertise their New England Seafood Night (usually on Thursdays). The chef is from RI and knows how to cook his fish.
