"Little bits" is also a great breakfast spot.

Our favorite breakfast place is Billy's Cafe.

I thought they had a new cook (chef)?

Default The Veranda

I enjoy every aspect of The Veranda, but their bacon is limp, greasy, very thin and has little substance. I'm a bacon lover and I simply wish they would get a better grade of bacon. Pleeeeeeeeeeaz? Love Billy's because they know how to cook eggs. Love Cracker Barrel, but hubby doesn't think they cook eggs as well as Billy's. LOL

I hope so if for no other reason than the great location for us.
It seems Havana is constantly undergoing some kind of management change. This place is always waiting for a mistake to happen.

The posts about Havana changing management go back a looooong time. Over several different threads.

Anyone starting to think the whole "management change" thing is just lip-service? They don't have a "chef." They have line cooks. All the management in the world won't make up for cooks who can't.

I had a really huge and very tasty biscuit and sausage gravy at Pete's Diner in Fruitland Park last week. The wife had french toast and thought it was probably one of the best she'd ever had.

Although not breakfast, we also enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich at Billy's Cafe.

I tried Havana breakfast buffet. Arrived at 7:00 AM, waited, waited, waited, no food was out until almost 7:30. And then it was pretty bad. I keep going back because the staff is nice, the drinks are good, the decor is excellent and a good location. Dinner is mediocre at best. They need a management change and have to hire a decent cook. They have no clue how to run a business.

I like breakfast at the Waterfront Inn. A little more expensive, but great buffet, eggs and waffles cooked to order, and fresh squeezed orange juice.

We've found that Cal's in Belleview has the most consistant and wonderful breakfasts. Eggs are always done just the way you want them, the bacon always falls apart and melts in your mouth, and their omlets are huge. You can get your potatos deep fried or regular. There is never a wait and they are cheaper than any place I've found.
