Hi,

I wasn't hungry until I read the postings about the hamburgers.

Not sure White Castle actually qualifies as a burger, it's more like steamed meat of some sort. Now don't get me wrong I love the little buggers. But if we're talking hamburgers I vote for either Applebees or Ruby Tuesday. Just my .02

Think you might have misread. This is from their web site:

Menu Item Calories Protein Carbohydrate
The Original Double 350 24 26
with cheese 410 27 26
The Original Single 250 15 26
with cheese 310 18 26
Triple Steakburger 450 33 26
with cheese 570 40 26

Sorry for messing up the spacing so much. You should have seen it when I tried to copy the whole chart.

When sober Ruby Tuesday's has two great burgers - the mini sliders (turkey or beef) that come with the salad bar for $8 or the Smokehouse burger (beef, BBQ sauce, Cheddar Cheese, and Onion Rings).

After drinking - Steak N Shake gets the nod! Can't beat grease to relieve the hang over.

Steak and Shake was surprisingly good. The burgers were tasty; the onion rings crispy. For an inexpensive burger, you can't beat em. Thanks for the suggestion.

I couldn't help notice that no one had mentioned 5 Guys Burgers. If you can find a 5 Guys Burger place near by you need to treat yourself. They are the best burgers and fries that I have ever had bar none.

Let me know if there is one in The Villages or if one is planned for the future. Thanks :dontknow:

I like Beef O'Brady's classic burger. Always cooked the way I like it, just beyond rare and really flavorful and juicy. Yum.

Default The Best Burgers Are Right At My House

We shared some great burgers with our neighbors this afternoon. Start with some great Black Angus ground beef from Sweetbay, doctored up with coarse salt, ground black pepper, Montreal Steak seasoning, Worstershire sauce and chopped garlic. Sear the burgers and then slow cook them to juicy doneness on the grill and serve them on some toasted Sweetbay buns.

There you have it. Served with a nice salad, some fresh asparagus, and some of my grill-roasted sliced small redskin potatoes, and you're done. (Slice the potatoes, sprinkle with EVOO and some butter pats, season with coarse salt, ground black pepper, touches of dried basil, rosemary, thyme and chopped fresh garlic and a touch of red pepper flakes and you're ready for roasting. Put 'em in a tinfoil pan and roast uncovered on the grill at about 400-450 for an hour or so, or until browned.)

Then the only question is what do you like best--the burgers or the roasted redskins?

How is the steak in Longhorn? I wouldn't suggest that Outback is a standard for steak houses, but compared to Outback, does Longhorn have a chance. There's not been much said lately about Whiskey Creek. There's plenty of competition now for steak, and with Red Lobster and Bonefish Grill opening, there'll be more choices for seafood as well. Sounds like Weight Watchers can't be far behind.
