Default Best Way To dispose of Unwanted Items/Junk

Just purchased a home in the villages. I have a bunch of items in the house I need to get rid of,
Desk, wall mounted cabinetry, sliding door and window valances, countertop, etc.
What is the most economical way to get rid of this stuff?
Does the company which picks up the bi-weekly trash do a bulk pickup?

If the items are resaleable, Habitat for Humanity is an excellent donation center.

You can call the trash company to schedule a bulk pick-up. Phone number varies according to your location. Only homeowner generated items. Contractors have to remove their own debris.

There will be a fee added to your monthly bill.

If you are not in a rush, you can advertise here, free or low cost. Include a detailed description, some of the items you mention could go quickly.

It depends on what CDD you're in. See Bulk Pick-Up - The Villages Community Development Districts

Districts 1-10 have a fee for pickup, 11-15 have no additional fee, but still need to call to schedule a bulk pickup.

The quickest way would be to get a small dumpster. I did that years ago for my bathroom demo up north.

True words. Just put the stuff out curbside (but still on your property) the day before your trash pickup and if it is obviously NOT junk it will disappear pretty quickly. I got rid of an old and ratty looking (but still usable) circular saw, a lawn sprinkler, some hand tools that were duplicates of some newer stuff had, and my wife's old steam iron in just that way yesterday.

800-GOT-JUNK will pick up a dump truck full and dispose of it. We used them to clear out the garage and a bedroom when we bought. You will pay for their services but it is worth it.
