Default Stay Away from PAX Premium Lawn Care and Tree Service!!!

Beware of Pax Premium Lawn Care and Tree Service. I had a very upsetting encounter with a young man I understood to be the owner’s son while he was trimming shrubs in my neighbor’s yard behind my property.

He was trampling plants in my garden bed. When I approached him about it, he became argumentative and repeatedly used the F-word. His behavior toward me was completely unprofessional.

I contacted my neighbor and ultimately called the sheriff’s department for assistance in de-escalating the situation. He then gave an account of the encounter that contradicted what I had witnessed.

I am extremely unhappy with how this was handled. Respect for neighboring property and basic courtesy should be expected of anyone working in our community.

IMO with crackerjack lots, not fenced, and easements you have very little control over what contractors do. I try not to have anything in easements that not willing to loose or replace easily.

Statue 810 is very powerful, even in easements. The only people allowed in easements is what is declared in the deed.

An unfortunate situation.

Not to be argumentative...but down here, especially among locals, HOW one is approached is just as important as WHY. Politeness is expected, and goes a long way toward defusing a situation. the opposite approach just reinforces the stereotype of Villagers that unfortunately all too many locals have of us.

From what I was able to ascertain, PAX has above-average ratings among their customers, both for the job that they do and the professional approach used by them. Was this young man approached with (say) "excuse me, but I'd take it as a personal favor if you'd spare my plants...and thank you for your consideration" or words to that effect? However if anger was used in the initial approach, particularly with a raised voice, then I can understand a negative reaction in return.

There are certainly various services that Villagers use, that can be sketchy to say the least. I've encountered a couple especially during our first couple of years here. I've politely severed relations with them and moved on to those more trustworthy. But we all need to be careful that our actions don't exaggerate or escalate a situation that, with a bit more consideration on our part, could have been avoided.
