Default Courtyard villa gates & golf carts

For those of you with Courtyard Villas... can a golf cart fit through the gate so that it can go into your yard?

Not sure why it matters, since you can always just press the red button to open the gate.

I think they meant the gate into their yard, not a gate into a neighborhood

Default A tight squeeze

The opening in the gate to my courtyard villa (built 2018) is 46 inches. With mirrors brought in, my 2-seat Yamaha golf cart is 44-45 inches wide, depending on where you measure (widest up top). No, I haven't actually tried to see if it can actually get through.

If you took the door off the hinges it may fit. They’re different sizes in different areas so you would need to know the exact location.

I hope that question is purely academic.

Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions
Article IX — Parking Restrictions

“No Owner of a Homesite shall park, store or keep any vehicle except wholly within his driveway, garage or other non-visitor parking spaces …”

This place has an astonishing number of rules—and, at the same time, an astonishing number of people who don’t care to understand them, much less abide by them.

An enclosed backyard opens the door to opportunities such as this. Out of sight is out of mind.

I wouldn’t want to leave my cart outside.

Probably wouldn’t hurt for OP to anonymously check with their respective district office for the official position.

My standard CYV gate width is 34 inches, with side panels off 39”, my Yamaha width minimum 39 1/2” with mirrors/brackets. Golf cart not going through that gate. Why not just brick in you whole front yard making a Hugh parking lot like lot of villager’s do with two vehicle plus, two golf carts and can’t get one in garage. O did I mention enclosed trailer setting on driveway like up street from me also?

Does bricked in front yard count as driveway?

Just like they did to the CYV ‘s on my street. Now I look at a parking lot. It looks terrible. Not even sure this is allowed.

I used to live in a Winslow CYV in Shady Brook. There was a concrete pad extended several feet all around the house. I think all the CYV's , at least in the newer sections, are like that. In an overflow situation, you could park a golf cart alongside the house on the concrete pad. In reading this thread, that seems to violate the parking restriction covenant. But it worked really well.

If I see someone trying to move a golf car to their back yard, I'm calling the Sheriff and the District and I advice others to do the same. This is a slippery slope.
