Since when have you seen responsible spending by the cash heavy city of Wildwood? They are number one in waste.

If it's for the kids it's not a waste of money.

OP must have been awhile since you have driven by WCC, or didn’t notice.

Structure build started close to a year ago, no progress has been made at least 6 months.
By the configuration many thought it was bathrooms instead of port a potties, for the soccer fields, and the many outdoor activities the community center supports. I wouldn’t consider indoor plumbing a waste by any community.

Wildwood, who are fortunate that they have enough money to spend on many projects & could easily make the Town Center similar to Winter Garden ____But so far I am not impressed with their decisions.

Unlike nearby " Bellview " very similar in size who are not as fortunate, #1 Marion County.

Wildwood needs to get on track & sort out the Downtown & do the right thing in many, many areas.

As for the building on Powell Rd. It's an improvement & likely needed that particular area is very popular.

The ongoing expansion and active development phases introduce several key additions to the 90-acre park:

• Covered Basketball Court: A brand new, large covered steel structure gym facility.

• New Sports Courts: The addition of dedicated, newly paved tennis courts and a racquetball court.

• Ball Field Lighting Upgrades: A $600,000 initiative to install advanced, energy-efficient LED lighting systems across five of the park's baseball and softball fields to support night games.

• Expanded Trail System: A completely integrated walking and recreational trail network wrapping around the northern perimeter of the property.

• Upgraded Infrastructure: Total demolition and replacement of old paved surfaces, including new internal two-lane access roads, cart paths, expanded parking lots, and modernized public restrooms.

• Water Management & Utilities: A large stormwater drainage pond alongside completely replaced water, sewer, and high-capacity electrical utility lines.
