sounds like an old Abbott and Costello comedy routine.

I think it is a made up recording for humor.

Nothing more!

My encounters with com cast have been equally comical. Both on the phone and on e-chat. Just like Abbott and Costello skits.

I can top this. When my father-in-law passed away up in MA my husband called to cancel his Comcast service. They said only the person who ordered it could cancel it. Ray explained that he died and that would not be possible. They said that was the only way the service could be cancelled because it was their policy. My husband went up the corporate ladder and finally got someone to agree to cancel the service as long as we provided a death certificate. Unbelievable!

I had the same issue with T-Mobile. Wifes father passed, they would not turn off the service. It became a real ------ contest. I was just going to let them keep billing. I happen to speak with a gal in Wal-Mart rt 466, she said give me the phone number. Two minutes later she said all is canceled and no more bills would be sent.

Thanks for the opinion and normally it would not even matter but just for the record it is obviously not made up if you bother to read the news article. Recording has been streamed 4 million times already.

From the news article:

"AOL product manager, Ryan Block, who is heard on the recording, said his wife initially called the cable provider to cancel their service".

"According to Block, the representative “got straight up belligerent” and was “aggressively repeating his questions” instead of canceling their service — so much so that after 10 minutes his wife eventually handed the phone over to him and he started recording".

Information link for Ryan Block which includes pictures of Ryan and also his wife below.

It's real and it's been reported on several news outlets. Comcast has already apologized. However, there is a reason why they have the worst nationwide customer service rating.
