Default Carpet problems

Just bought a resale home. Around the edges of the carpeting even in the closets the carpeting looks dirty. Professional carpet cleaner could not remove it. Any ideas on how to clean it and prevent it from occurring in the future? Also have you had this problem with your carpeting In The Villages?

We had a major problem with the sprinklers, which caused water to get in the house, and it caused a discoloration around the edges of the carpets. Check to make sure you do not have a water problem, I had the carpet pulled up, and it was obvious what was going on. As this had happened recently, the professional carpet cleaner was able to remove the stains, and the sprinkler was repaired. It has been fine since.
Hope this helps.

You did not mention how old the house and carpet is. Most people when they vaccum do not get the edges, dirt builds up over time and it is then hard to remove it (especially with light color carpets). The other possibility is mold due to moisture. Pull back the carpet and inspect the cement floor.

The carpet installed by TV at the time of build is simply awful...cheap carpet, cheap padding, but ooks good when new. I've had my hous 2 1/2 years and had the carpet cleaned twice. Both times told by cleaners (different ones) that the problem is the carpet, not us, which I was glad to hear since we wear slippers in the house. Many of my neighbors have ripped out the carpeting and either tiled or had engineered wood installed. I have carpet in the bedrooms only, and I hate it. Will wait another year or two and replace. It's not you!

we could not get the carpet clean, no matter what we did. found out that it was not dirt, but rubber dust from shoes. which cannot be removed. replaced carpet in the living room with tile, and will eventually replace the carpeting in the bedrooms with a better quality carpet, and definitely not in such a light color.
