Default Is 466A now open?

My wife didn't take it, but she said the detour signs are gone. Does anyone know if this roadwork is done at last?

Yep, it was last night when I drove through it. Traffic lights are in place and seems to be okay, although I was there late in the evening so I'm not sure how it works during the day.

Sorry, I read the questions wrong. I was thinking he asked if Colony Blvd was open. So sorry, my mistake.

Haha. Kathie sent me on a goose chase.
I just went over to Powell at 466a...looks just the same....
For anyone trying to avoid going as far N. As 462 takes you..
You can get to 301, crossing Powell, with some crazy turns, or you can go s. On powell to huey and straight to 301.

466a to route 301 is definitely NOT open, and it looks like it is months from being completed. One lane for over 1/2 mile, dirt on the other side, and the intersection with 301 is not complete. It is a mess, as of Aug, 23, just attempted to use it......

When the project began, the target completion date was said to be October 2014.

Information Provided by Sumter County
SUMTER COUNTY, FL. (October 1, 2013) Construction will begin for the C-466A widening project on Sunday, October 6, 2013. The project will include construction of left turn lanes for additional capacity, bicycle lanes, widened sidewalks, enhanced landscape features, and improved utilities. Roadway construction is scheduled through September 2014.
Starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2013, portions of C-466A between US 301 and Powell Road / C-462 will be closed to through traffic and open for local traffic only. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes and avoid traveling on C-466A.
To access US 301 and I-75 from C-466A in The Villages, turn south on C-462 (Powell Road) and travel through Brownwood to SR44, and then turn right (west).
Lane closures and traffic patterns will change as construction progresses through the corridor. Construction signs, barricades and barriers will guide motorists through and around work areas. Motorists should plan to use alternate routes. Adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances may affect the work schedule.

I never once believed that knowing how they build roads. Remember 441/27? Everytime I go down to Powell and 466a and look towards the construction I see absoultely nothing being done. No workers, trucks or progress.
I'm especially interested in it getting done because any visiters I have whether coming from south on the turnpike or coming from north on I75 will be directed by their GPS to take 301 to 466A to my home and then they find they can't go east on 466A.

For what it's worth, my MIL is moving into an apartment at Providence. The director hold us the county told her the reopening date is February 2015. At that time, they'll begin work on 462 with a combination of closing part of the road and 1-lane traffic and flag men. Should be fun going to church on that road.
