I wish we had a closer Costco as well however Costco and other box stores look at
demographics to find their next location not a write in campaign.

I heard they were coming until they found out it would not be profitable due to having to feed so many villagers from their free sample tables!

closest Costco is in Altamonte Springs which took my wife and I almost 90 minutes to drive there and was absolutely the oldest, smelliest and dumpiest Costco we've ever been in in our lives. Yes, at the very least why can't they locate one in Ocala!

Slogan - "If they have free food, they will come".

I desparately try to avoid Sam's on Saturday, as the aisles are always blocked by lines of people, having their lunch.

Just got back from Sam's Club. FULL as a Tick.

Scary part was everyone was polite and waited their turn.
Do they know something I don't know.

Does anyone know what happened to the original
COSTCO plan to locate
across 441 from Sam's, DEEP behind the NEW McDonalds.

They were going to have a Secondary Entry/Exit on Hwy25.

OH Yeah, the Financial Chaos of U.S. in Oct 2008

This past summer my neighbors son was on vacation in Michigan. He was at a lake and was admiring a large yacht that was docked. The owner came over to talk to them and it was Gary Morse. He began giving them a sales talk about all of the places to eat, stores, etc. His son said you don't have a Costco. Gary Morse said they will have one within 2 years.

Default Orlando Costco

We drive to Costco in Orlando which is located on Orange Blossom Trail... about 1 hr via the turnpike.. Nice Store!

However, a Costco would be a great
store to add to this area... a lot of population surrounding The Villages
would also be customers... Ocala... Clermont.. Leesburg etc etc..

I think we will get one within a reasonable time..

We went to Costco yesterday. Took us just a little over an hour. The store was a lot smaller than the ones we are used to in Ca. and we were disappointed how what they carry compared to Ca. I was disappointed no Skippy peanut butter or Vanilla coffee.

We spoke to management about a Costco in The Village area and they said nothing is planned for now. They have to look at the impact a new store would have on the ones already build. They did say keep sending requests.

I would love to believe that we will be getting a Costco, even if it's two years away.

But the question is, how would Gary Morse know this? No one knows what the next two years will be like economically, so what does Gary Morse know that even Costco doesn't know at this particular time?

I have been sending Costco emails for about 6 months requesting one in this area. They said they had a team looking into this area but right now, none is planned.

Went to Costco yesterday in Winter Park and Total Wine.
Another 1K day.
Used to live 10 minutes away but still enjoy going back...just not as often.
Tolls and gas pretty much negate any savings.
