Default power outages

Power out two nights in a row in Hemingway. We don't usually have lightning storms during the night. Climate change??

Default Power outages... WHY?

I too had my power go out the past 2 days in Gilchrist during the early mornings as others have indicated. My question is what caused them? To the best of my knowledge, there was no inclement weather that could be attributed to the outages. I plan on calling SECO later today to get their input.

Climate Change is a myth... they were just changing the street light bulbs.

There was an announcement on our T-V about possible disruptions due to the sun.

I doubt that was the cause at 1:38 AM!

I see I'm not the only one experiencing power outage - when you find anything out from SECO let us know...is it SECO doing system work, accidents causing wires to go down, squirrels in their transformers or is it gators??

My theory that as seco adds new service to areas under construction, the impacts in grid power must temporarily phase in the alteration in total output to equalize demand. Simply, it is molecular thermodynamics of fluid phase equlibria.

What's your theory?

We didn't lose our power in Sanibel.

The Sun is always shining. Sometimes we just can not see it.

A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) produces a magnetic shockwave
that extends Billions of miles out into space.

When the Earth enters into the Path of the Shockwave, the magnetic field
on Earth may react.
Earth could enter the path even when
our small portion of the Earth is in Darkness.

When we are Dark at 0138 hours, much of the Earth is in broad daylight

The Magnetic Field can induce Electricity and cause any
COnductor to become an INductor .

The CME contains X-RAYS and Gamma Rays.

These Rays can ( and do) strip Electrons from Metal Components.
This process is called ionizing as the electrons break free from
the metal. This could cause "shorting out" .

What's your theory?
With Degrees in Thermodynamics, Electrical Engineering,
Biomedical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering
and Aerospace Engineering
my spawn may tend to go with your theory.
They may even understand what you presented.

As just a simple semi-retired dirt Farmer with a few Feeder Cattle
along with a side order of Tree Farm, I like your analysis.
I will also go with your theory.
