I have tried to refrain from complaining. Each time I offer an opinion, it seems to invite those sniper attacks. I an asking for some feedback on another issue. Is it me or has the Daily Sun lost it's direction the past few months ?? At one time I could spend nearly an hour reading items of interest but lately I find myself only scanning the Daily Sun looking for items of interest. For example, I offer some items in today's paper. Mouth to Mouth Kissing Transfers 80 Million Bacteria, A musement Parks Challenged By Home Entertainment, Old F 16s Make Good Bad Guys, 2 Penguins Chicks hatch At california Academy.Ghost Researchers Invade Old NJ Jail, Etc and Etc. Who in the world is choosing to publish these articles just behind the headline page??? There is a good chance I will not renew the Daily Sun but will most like choose another publication. Will any attackers please refain from replying, comments welcome.

I don't read The Sun for news. I read it for information about activities. For news I read The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist.

I agree...The Daily Sun has a new format. I think they gradually began the change maybe 2 months ago. Started 1st with the Local section now I think the whole paper has a new look. NOT sure that I care for it neither. I used to go to the Local section 1st, then I'd read the rest however it now leaves way too much to be desired IMHO.

The newspaper has a new owner. I'm not sure when this change took place, but it wasn't that long ago. I have a feeling the physical change in the paper's look, as well as its content, can directly be attributed to this change in ownership.
I'm sure one of TOTV's posters can contribute better information than I've given.

We subscribe to the Orlando Sun and find it to be what we think of as a real newspaper. Once in awhile there might be an article of local interest we'd like to see. If so, we borrow a neighbor's paper or go to the rec center to look at a copy. I've never felt comfortable contributing financially, no matter how small an amount, to the Daily Sun.

We take both the Orlando Sentinel and the Sun. I find that I read the Daily Sun first for local news and activities. I read the Sentinel for national news and the editorials - really enjoy Scott Maxwell. I like the new format of the Sun - it seems clean and organized and invites the reader.

I like Daily Sun for local activities etc. I think they do an over all job in keeping us informed with news that pertains to us "Villagers" Like the idea of waking up at 5am and see my paper in driveway.

I like the happy paper for entertainment, activities, restaurants, etc. Sometimes there will be an interesting story and feel good interesting stories of Villagers.

I noticed the same changes when we returned a few weeks ago. I think it is the realization that few people get their news from newspapers anymore and that the only way to survive is to concentrate on the local. You can see the same changes in local news casts. Watch the local news sports, there is no coverage of major leagues, just local teams.
Up until this year I taught a course at a local university in their MBA program. I had to stop asking my students if they saw a relevant article in the local paper because none of them read the local paper. The Daily Sun is just trying to stay relevant. As a wise politician said "All politics are local". |

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the daily rate fifteen cents if you subscribe for the year?
Are you saying it's too expensive for what you get? |

The only reason we subscribe to the Daily Sun is because the wife likes the coupons and store adds.
