Default USAA Medigap Insurance

Has anyone checked into this plan? I'm currently using AARP-United Healthcare, and have no reason to change. However, I've been a long-term member of USAA and have always been pleased with its services. This is the first year I've ever received any solicitations about Medicare supplements from USAA.

I have used USAA for Plan F for the last two years and have had no problems. If I remember correctly, all of the plans are pretty much the same including price within a state.

Big O, if you don't mind my asking – what are you doing about a drug plan supplement? The info I received from USAA was for Medigap only. Currently, with United Healthcare, I'm paying $171 (going up to $175 next year) for Plan F; $46 per month for drug supplement. Is that comparable to what you are paying for USAA?

I am new to Medicare Part B as I was covered under my spouses insurance after I retired in 2012. She will be retiring on Dec 31st so we are in the market.

I like Plan F because you know your costs up front, no deductibles, no co pays, and no co insurance. I like the price of the Advantage plans but due to our travel schedule I do not think the passport program in the Advantage plan would work for us.

The Benefits of Plan F are required to be the same for all carriers, the only difference is price. Blue Cross is $180
per month. I was told United would be around $190. Do you have the plan F high deductible plan ?

My Part D drug plan will be $34.10 per month with no deductible. I only take two medicines .

I have been with USAA since college and got the same mailer on Part F, I do not know the price but I think it was $ 188.

Unlike asking a potential Doctor if they take Blue Cross or United the key question with Part F is to ask if they take Medicare, if so then you are home free. I had a friend that got cancer and unfortunately passed away and her husband said the bill was $300, 000 and because they had Plan F it did not cost a thing.

Good Luck in your search.

For Plan D they directed me to Humana. I chose the Humana Preferred Plan this year which costs $27 and change. They have a cheaper plan at $15.60 per month but one of my medications isn't covered on it. There is one higher level that covers some more name brands and zI beleive it is around $57 per month.

Thank you! The price you are quoting, is that per person or per couple? I've always wondered whether I was paying a higher premium because I am single as opposed to a couple. What provider do you have wherein you are only paying $34 for the drug plan with no deductible?
I, too, am not a candidate for or interested in an Advantage plan. Re deductibles: I have none on my Medigap; but, I do have on my drug plan depending on the tier level of the drug.

Prices quoted are per person. There is no "couple" pricing on Medicare.

My plan is a Cigna Plan and the number is :

S 5617-256-0

Look it up and see if you get the same $34.10 rate, no deductible
