Default Evergreen Buffet in Pinellas Plaza

The wife had to make a trip to Walgreens at Pinellas last Friday night so we stopped in Evergreen Buffet & Grill for supper; really was good compared to most of the Oriental buffets in the KC area.

When they have crab legs they do charge extra.

But, beware if you have an allergy to MSG. Most everything there has it. They will tell you they don't use it, but after speaking to the owner, I was told they do. For those that can handle MSG, it's good. It's very different from most buffets I have been to. It's cleaner than most for sure.

Will they follow the tradition of Chinese restaurants being open on Christmas?

Yes, they are open Christmas. There is a sign on the door.

Default Help Stop MSG

I think it is also a rather nice buffet.. However for everyones health maybe as we are seated or come in the door, voice your request to stop using the
additive MSG... look it up on the internet... very bad for most people including all those who have a heart or brain... and GI track... not being smart this is just fact for your body!!.. Maybe just being kind and respectfully will get this little request done...

Bad for most people? I would say it's bad for everyone. We all have a heart, brain, GI track etc. The other thing I would complain about is that they use too much teriyaki sauce. Why do so many items have to taste like teriyaki? It's way overdone, in my opinion. I call teriyaki sauce, "liquid sodium."

In my opinion, Golden Corral has many more choices for a lower price. At the Evergreen you have to get a 15% discount to get to the regular price of Golden Corral.
