Default Church or Performing Arts Center

Now that the Church on the Square is no more and has been transformed into the "Sharon", a performing arts center, is it appropriate that several of the outside pinnacles of the building continue to display a "Crucifix" or "Cross" now that the building has been converted from a religious sanctuary to a performing arts center?

Some people wear a crusifix around their neck. Does that make them a church?

Those are part of the character of the building. I'd vote for leaving them alone. Who finds them offensive? Or architecturally distasteful? Thank goodness we don't get to vote on this issue

Probably means they are Christian. Are you saying there is no difference between people and their individual beliefs and buildings? A poor analogy at best!

It is a non issue for the majority of us.
However if it became an issue let us hope it is put to a vote so the majority can have its say.

That will be a slippery slope!

Think of all of the activities that happen at the YMCA.

How do you feel about "Merry Christmas"?

Wonderful. My favorite movie is White Christmas with Bing Crosby and the gang. I'm on my third copy - don't let anyone tell you that my tears have ruined at least one. I really didn't say that. If you repeat it I may have to cover your house in oatmeal.

Full Definition of FACADE

1
: the front of a building; also : any face of a building given special architectural treatment <a museum's east facade>

2
: a false, superficial, or artificial appearance or effect

The Church on the Square was used for many "things" besides a religious worship center. Its their building so what (we) think or feel about a cross on top really is not significant. It's a nonissue.
