Default refrigerator

So ladies do you like your freezer on bottom type or the side by sides? Found one I loved today but was disappointed when we arrived back home and when I measured for the height it was an inch or to too tall to fit into the opening under the cabinet. Also many more stainless steels in Lowes now than there are white ones

I like the side by sides. I like the stacking drawers in mine. Our son has a nice stainless steel with the bottom freezer and the freezer part is huge and the refrigerator part is not. Probably depends on the maker.

I like the bottom freezer with two drawers. Have them check fridges come in different sizes

We have the LG w/bottom freezer and love it! The one we purchased we knew was going to be too tall by a half inch or so. My husband removed and raised the cabinet above the
refrigerator so it would fit and you can't even tell.

My husband said he could remove cabinet over fridge also and raise it up a bit. However this would mean the cabinets would not line up. Do you think that would look strange? There are several cabinets on that wall and they all line up. So it would remain the same except the small cabinet over fridge would be higher? Opinions??

Recently put a side by side new refrigerator in the garage because I hate it. Bought a Samsung bottom freezer and I love it. So much easier to see what's in the refrigerator. The other freezer couldn't even hold a frozen pizza.

Hula - that sounds like something I might suggest to my wife. If I did, I would call a neighbor before I went to bed and ask them to check on me in the morning.

Cabinets not lining up? No way! That would bug me and that is all I'd see every time I walked into my kitchen!

Maybe you can get your husband to raise all the upper cabinets?

No raising all of them would not work as one is directly over pantry so cannot have gap between pantry and upper cabinet. Why don't they make standard opening for fridges? Some are so large for the villages homes

Had same problem when I needed new fridge = found out who had installed cabinets in house and had it removed and trimmed a little off bottom to accommodate regular size fridge. Mine was done by Bailey cabinets who had one of their installers do work for not much $$

Default in door ice/water poor design on french door

I've had to have my Samsung french door refrigerator with water/ice in the door repaired. Apparently it is not a good design and doesn't stay cold enough because the ice maker is in the refrigerator. Not long after having it repaired it was doing the same thing - water dripping out when using ice dispenser. It also takes up a lot of room in the refrigerator.

Otherwise I love the design because the refrigerator, which I access most often, is easily accessible and both sections accommodate wide items (trays, frozen pizza, etc.). If I had it to do again I would still get the french door style but without the dispenser in the door.

Here is my experience and what I have learned. 7 yes ago we bought the freezer on bottom. For yes I loved it but then came to realize whenever I shopped I would come home, unload groceries and put freezer items on top, never using what was buried underneath. So now I may give the side by side a try. Still have this cabinet issue though and hate not being able to purchase the one I love because of height

We moved into a house once where our fridge that we brought with us was too tall. The Hubs was able to "shave" a bit off the bottom of the cabinet and one couldn't even tell that this had been done.
