I recently bought all new appliances for our home. We bought a large LG with the freezer on the bottom and the refrigerator section on top. We love it. My wife hated our side by side as you could not even put a pizza in the freezer.

Here is the one we bought;

LFXS32766S

We like the following features;

1) the "door in a door". AWESOME ! Can't say enough good about it.

2) two ice makers. The one in the door does not take any space up in the refrigerator section.

The strange thing is that it stays colder than our "old" freezer, but the ice cream stays perfect, never too hard or soft. Food seems to stay fresher longer.

We found the best prices on these appliances seem to be around Thanksgiving. The list price for this is like $4k...but we bought this unit for well under $2k.

As to the cabinet, billy is right that on a framed cabinet you might be able to take a bit off the bottom and it would not be noticeable at all. You could also perhaps replace the 15" high cabinet with a 12" high cabinet.....most folks hardly use that over the fridge cabinet anyway....

Hope that helps! Frank

How about just remove the cabinet over the Fridge? IMO only used to store junk in that you can't reach. Store it in the attic, if you every want to install it back.

Guy at Lowes told me White will soon be special order.

We have a side-by-side refrigerator here in Michigan and I hate it. There isn't room in the refrigerator or freezer for large items. I don't know what we would do if it wasn't for the freezer in the garage or the small refrigerator in in our lower level kitchen. I can't wait to use our french door refrigerator in our TV home.

We had to raise a cabinet in our home on St. Augustine Beach so we could add a microwave over the stove. We hired an installer to do it. I'm pretty picky and you couldn't even tell the difference.

No....Lowes did not stock that top of the line model....I would have prefered Lowes, but ended up getting a very good package price at Home Depot....It was hard to find both the door in a door and the two ice makers model.

I think they are phasing out white appliances. I just bought a new GE french door and had to get it in slate color SS because that model doesn't come in white

Went back to Lowes today for another measure. Will definitely have to have cabinet raised up to fit it in. We have a designer home and can only fit a 68 inch (hgt) in the space. Wonder if gardenia has larger space.

Oh boy. Hubby can't raise cabinet as he said the cabinet is glued to the one next to it. Guess the refrigerator I want is now out

Ok Hula. You are heading in a direction I can't allow to be viewed in my home. So if a fridge won't fit in your current home, change the house? Oh wow. I hope the mod deletes this post!

Oh wait. You will get a kick out of this I just remembered I did ask the salesman "so what does everyone do these days if the fridges are too large?". His response was they buy the older smaller ones (freezer on top) OR they remodel the whole kitchen! So just keep the wife happy with the one she has now. Lol
