Yes, but you are forgetting that the common rabble (i.e. all of us on TOTV) have no right to criticize the Emperor and Empress .. .they are entitled to whatever they want from the public treasury because, after all, it's really their money. Plus, they have really good intentions and Obama needs to fundraise and play golf.

Actually it is not at our expense, it is going directly to the deficiet and our grandchildren. That why hardly anyone cares. Just one more reason we need a real balanced budget amendment. What would Hilary, Jeb, or any of the others do if they had to say who's taxes would go up to keep their promises.

The Obama family is not the first to use Air Force One for overseas trips. Laura Bush made 5 trips to Africa without the President. The twins went on those trips, too. They did the ultra first class things like private safaris.

All of these trips (then and now) are under the guise of some form of humanitarian effort.

You may express discontent about this current trip but temper it with past trips by Presidential families.

I do not subscribe to a previous wrong as justification for the current wrong.

It is not the right message to send to the American people. And staying in the present, it just sets a poor example. They do what the super rich do....they do not have to do it at $250,000 per hour!!!!!

Only the President of the United States flies on Air Force One. Whatever plane he is on is given that designation, although it usually applies to the Boeing 747's in the fleet.

The Vice President of the United States flies on Air Force Two. The Secretary of State has his own plane as does the Secretary of Defense.

When the Obama family flies alone, they would fly on other planes in the fleet, similar to the Boeing 757/767. How much it costs to operate these airplanes per hour, who knows?

This is very typical debate, half the population against the trips half support them and everyone ok passing cost to next generation. We are an exceptional people are we not?

This president and future presidents will have the free usage of one of the official jumbo jets for personal travel once they leave office. It will not be retroactive to presidents before Obama. This is going to be a lifetime benefit.

The Traveling President

Guess Obama hasn't traveled since July 2011.

Why post about an issue if you have a closed mind? Foreign trips by the first lady can be about many things some of which can be practical and useful. For all you or I know there can be a classified reason to this trip. The first lady and child could be just cover for a covert political gambit. Maybe the Greek issue?
