To me this is very disturbing news which I just read in the on-line Daily Sun.
http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/a...villages02.txt Fox Noise "Fair and Balanced" this is a joke. Well there goes listening to The Villages Radio Station.....I will have to carry some ear plugs when I'm on the squares. ??? |

If you just want one side than by all means stick with the alphabets.

So tell me what is different than hearing one liberal side than one conservative side. How about "liberal" one hour and conservative on the next.
I would have used even and odd....but. |

Cologal, what would you do if CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, CNBC, NY TIMES and just about every other so called newspaper, were CONSERVATIVE instead of LIBERAL. The only, and I mean only place a Republican can get any substantial news that IS fair and balanced is FOX. Get a grip.

Cologal--- How many Republicans are on the alphabets, not to mention have their own show. With the exception of Glen Beck, and some pundits once in awhile I can't think of any. If you want I can list all the Democrats that either have their own show or our pundits on FOX, all the time. Whether you want to admit it or not you get both sides. I won't bother getting into the print media or TV shows.

If you ask most people much of the mainstream press has gone to the middle and at times a little right. For my news I always watch a number of stations but I never miss The New Hour with NewsHour With Jim Lehrer. The devote a lot of time to actually discuss the issues.
I have listened to Fox however they admit the Fair and Balanced part means they are balancing the "liberal media". I don't ever tune in Keith Oberman because he is to far left for me. I don't, anymore, listen to liberal radio nor right radio because they are at the edges also. So to me Fox is the Oberman of the right. Try the News Hour its pretty good |

Cologal: I think you are listening with ears that will not hear. Try watching news programs on Fox like Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, or Fox Report with Shep Smith, or Brit Hume daily at 3P.
I grant you, I don't like watching O'Reilly because he never lets anyone get a word in edgewise and I don't like Hannity and Colmes because of all the talking over. But if you are just watching the alphabet stations and Lehrer, you are getting slanted liberal jibberish. Then you should start reading and doing your own research if you are sincere about wanting to check out points of view and their validity against history. Libs have many more radio/print/television outlets. And ohbytheway, you should try to watch the Saddleback Civil Forum. It was on both CNN and Fox. I'm sure you can see it again somewhere. That was the most revealing and fair and balanced I have seen to get a good idea of what the candidates really believe and their core values. If character isn't an issue for you, then I can't help you. Good luck. |

Former White House press secretary Scott McCllelan made it clear that the White House gave correspondents and pundits at Fox "talking points" that were useful to the White House and McCllelan indicated that Fox gave the White House the desired results.
"Fair and balanced"? Hardly! |

I did watch the Saddleback Forum but there does appear to be an issue with it. McCain was NOT in a Cone of Silence.
Eight years ago I did support McCain in the primaries but that McCain is not this McCain. And while it would be a natural fit to vote for Obama so far that ain't going to happen. I will check out the shows you suggest Thanks |

Fox is as balanced as it gets and yes they do lean right. But most of the others have leaned so far left there is nowhhere else to go.
So suggest you sell. |

__________________________________________________ ___________________- I would TOTALLY and without exception disagree with this statement ! --------------- I don't ever tune in Keith Oberman because he is to far left for me. __________________________________________________ ________- If he is too far left how could you support the Obama/Biden ticket ? Their record makes him look right !! |

If living in a very conservative, Republican enclave truly bothers you, then you're probably going to have problems in TV. It is that. There are some Democrats and even a few liberals but the majority are Republican, conservative and nice people even if slightly misguided (yes, tongue is firmly in cheek -- don't kill me).
