We just added a lamp post sign and do not like how it is square with the street. It cannot be read from within a car until the person is almost past our house. I see some signs are angled towards the beginning of the street. which makes them easy to read. Aside from drilling new holes, I don't know of another way to angle the sign. Just wondering if rotating the lamp post is an option. If so, does anyone have info on how to rotate the lamp post so the the sign can be angled towards the beginning of the street.

If they know your street name, house number, your name and drive slow enough they'll see the sign...if they can not then either they're driving to fast or have issues you aren't mentioning...angling the sign won't matter and you can always put large numbers above your garage...

I guess I am confused, the streets are 2 way, so if you angle the sign for an easier read in one direction it should be much more difficult to read from the other direction, right?
You might be able to make an adapter using PVC pipe and hose clamps, painted to match your pole (black?) Take a large TEE connector with and ID the same size as the OD of your post. Cut it in half, so it will fit on to the post, then buy the parts to reduce the tap opening to whatever size pipe you purchased for your sign to hang from. Remove the existing piece supporting the sign, use the hose clamps to attach your adapter, and re-install your sign, and set to the new angle. Hope this helps.

Get the biggest pipe wrench you can find and grab post at the very bottom with it and turn it to the position needed.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll just leave it alone. Just wondering why some houses have them angled and others do not. possibly it may have been owner request made at build time.
