Default Stem cell therapy

I am considering stem cell therapy for my shoulder, and I am seeking feedback from those who may have had stem cell procedures. Information such as name of provider, affected part of the body, success/failure rate, length and degree of relief, overall satisfaction, and any other comments you wish to share.
Thanks, cdj

OK, I cannot provide the info your asked for, but I was at a recent meeting for a medical study group, and during the Q&A the doctor, provided comments that were NOT very positive about this. The person asking the question had this procedure, and it DID NOT WORK. Bottom line, the doctor stated stem cell was a $100K procedure, if this is the less then $10k, well you are probably getting what you paid for.............

IMHO, check, double check, and then check again.

Can't imagine what Dr. you were talking to & where he was getting his figures from !!
I had stem cell treatment and one of my friends did also.
My friend had it for his heart and is doing wonderful. He had it done a few years ago and had to go to Argentina so a little pricey with traveling and all.
I had stem cell treatment for my lungs. It's still too early to tell, however, I am having better days and longer bouts of feeling good. I just had it done in October and I paid $8,900.
Of course no guarantee but they say it usually takes 3 - 4 months.

Bonny, Interesting, now I will consider this going forward. I have found there always seems to be 2 sides to these discussions. I am sure as in all medical procedures sometimes they work sometimes they do not. However, it is interesting that you know of some success stories. Hope this works as well for you.

OP, continue your quest for more information, and you may want to also investigate the practice, so you are getting quality treatment.

I had mine done by Miami Stem Cell Treatment Center.
They do it at the Endoscopy Surgical Center on 441 in front of Stonecrest.
The Lung Institute in Tampa also does it.

I had stem cell replacement in my knee. It worked for 8 months........then I needed the knee replacement. So, in my opinion.....not worth the money!

knee replacements are not as complicated as shoulder replacement...and it takes a year to recover from shoulder replacement and I am 80 yrs old. But I understand your point of view. TX

Please provide updates as time goes on. I researched this a little as I have COPD and I just didn't get a good feeling. I hope it works great for you.

Default Stem Cell Therapy

My daughter had it done -- here in Ohio. She had "tennis elbow" from doing hair all day long (has a hair salon here in Ohio). Then a bone spur started growing around the tendon. She let it go until she could barely lift her arm. Went to see a surgeon and got good news -- that it could be fixed with surgery-- but with a recuperation period of 6 weeks. Another doctor (whose hair she cuts) told her to see this guy in Columbus. Bottom line, he did the stem cell therapy on her elbow -- a long needle (pretty painful from what I hear) injected directly into the site -- it was done in October too -- and it feels great. She had to take 2 weeks off work. Afterwards, she started working out with a trainer and pushed herself too hard and had a couple of days where it bothered her but as soon as she stopped pushing it so hard it went back to feeling fine. The doctor charged her $400 but told her it was because the therapy wasn't very well known and insurance wouldn't pay for it -- YET. He is hoping word gets around and that insurance will recognize it as legitimate therapy. Totally dissolved her bone spur too. I say try it -- if it doesn't work, at least you tried. I really think it's the medical technology of the future! And Good Luck and God Bless.

Hoax.... they do not take insurance and they do not guarantee anything... went to a meeting here in the Villages with the owner who does the surgery.... if they were so good he would not have the time to go out and sell... Beware!

Angry Who knows?

I personally know of two ladies who had stem cell treatments for their lungs within a couple of months of each other and who died within one month of each other a year ago.
