We are coming in to TV in Janaury and were thinking of doing the same - please post your commentary on the ride.

Have you done the one in Ocala in the National Forest?

The Sumter Landing Bike Club just had an away event to the Trail earlier this month. Details are in their minutes from the October Meeting.

I just rode it a couple of weeks ago and have done it in the past - I love it. It's paved and flat. From Inverness, if you go toward Floral City (I think it's north) there is a bike shop in Floral City. In fact, there is one at the Inverness Trailhead also. Floral City is about 7.5 miles and not a bad ride. I recommend it.

It takes about 45 minutes to get to Inverness from The Villages. Part of the trail is also in Brooksville - another nice ride.

I love this trail. I used it alot when training for a century, and now I just ride it almost everytime I am down there for the heck of it. Well maintained, mostly flat with some long gradual grades to climb. Plenty of places to stop and rest.

There are several points that cross roads, but the traffic is generally light.

This trail is such a jewel, people of all ages, recumbents and every over bike you can think of.

Will be there the second week of Nov. and happy to ride with anyone. I usually start at the Dunellon trailhead.

Enjoy!

Nope.. This will be our first real vacation so to speak at TV... Our last trip in July was all business & getting the house set up to lease (which may not happen ). This time is more play oriented and we're bringing our take apart tandem. Regarding the post about the trail in Ocela, we hadn't planned on bringing Cross tires and in all truthfullness, we would want to ride on singles prior to trying the tandem. We still don't ride the tandem on the C & O towpath along the Patomic as it is rather rough. Sand is yet another issue. Look for us the second week in November. Hope the weather is nice...

Thnkx
