Default Minimum Wage hike just not working

Socialism at its best.

Now coming to CA and NY.
Now this is downright funny. They scream for a higher minimum wage then when they get it they complain because they make too much money to qualify for the free stuff, go figure.

SEATTLE EMPLOYEES ASK FOR REDUCED HOURS SO THAT JACKED-UP MINIMUM WAGE WON’T COST THEM SUBSIDIZED HOUSING

By jacking up minimum wage, Seattle has provided a valuable lesson in liberal economics. The plan has now backfired. Nora Gibson is the executive director of Full Life Care told KIRO 7 she saw a sudden reaction from workers when Seattle’s phased minimum-wage ordinance took effect in April, bringing minimum wage to $11 an hour. She said anecdotally, some people feared they would lose their subsidized housing so they have asked that their work hours be reduced to remain eligible for all government subsidies.
It doesn’t stop at $11/hour. The law puts it up to $15 starting January 1, 2017, they will have to reduce their work hours even more to remain eligible for handouts. Good thing the minimum wage wasn’t raised even higher, most would not work at all, they prefer to be spoon fed and remain on the government plantation.

Remember free market capitalism? Under that system, the harder and smarter you worked, the higher your standard of living. But that was found to result in income inequality, so now we have a system where wealth is bestowed by bureaucrats, and working harder doesn’t always make sense.

By taking point in the liberal campaign to pander to fools by jacking up minimum wage, Seattle has provided a valuable lesson in moonbat economics: - See more at: Moonbattery >> Seattle Employees Ask for Reduced Hours So That Jacked-Up Minimum Wage Won’t Cost Them Subsidized Housing

I never heard of Moonbattery before. This is from July 2015.

I think someone got a right wing email and cut and pasted before doing any investigating. That happens from time to time.

Get ready for someone to spin it into a Hillary thread.

Target Stores is currently testing robotic devices which will take inventory , pick product from the storeroom and deliver it to the location within the store to be placed on the shelves . The forced higher minimum wage makes these devices financially rational .
The prediction is that this one form of automation will replace several full time employees in every store .

Good information. How do you fix the gap?

The truth is...with technology...we just don't need all those people. So what do we do with them?

Every market in a capitalist system becomes efficient in the long run . Politicians can legislate wage rates all they want however employers will determine how to deliver quality products which consumers are willing to pay for at the lowest price possible .
So one of the outcomes of legislating a high minimum wage gives rise to the use of more and more machines [ robotics ] to replace menial tasks which normally are performed by entry level employees .
The net result fewer and fewer people who have the chance to start at the bottom and work their way to higher paying jobs once they demonstrate their energy , competence and good employee habits .

They can stand on risers during the work day behind Hillary and Bernie and hold up signs and look very very foolish screaming their heads of in support of people who once elected will seal their doom .

I understand that the robots are transgender so as to appease that great .03% minority.

I could make an off-hand suggestion, but one of the posters on here would take it personal and cry that I am a big meanie.

But, seriously those folks put out of work will have to either go back to school to learn a more skilled career, or become self employed. Perhaps this is good, in that it will force folks to aim higher instead of being content with entry level requirements. And besides, it seems that high school kids would rather not work anyway. Not as long as they can sponge off their parents. Of course this will likely put a lot of illegal aliens out of work, and that is a good thing. Maybe they will go back to where they came from and seek employment there.

About all many minimum wage earners are worth.

Really? Don't was already have 10X more people with a degree than jobs for them? Self employed? Drugs? Prostitution? That's all they can do.

But entry level is all most of them are capable of. Look how they live in the inner cities.

I hope it does make them go back home. But unfortunately, they'll soon outnumber us. And we'll become a failed state just like where they came from.

They can do the jobs that were outsourced.

The white european way was the best way...until we destroyed it, diversified it.

The real lazy ones of which there seem to be many will live a life in their Mother`s basement . They will smoke dope , play video games and connect with their ilk on social media .
Every 4 years the libs will bring them out of the basement in order to hold up signs at local rally`s where they will cheer real hard in support of newly promised " free stuff " .
Eventually their Mommies will move to places like the Villages and they will bring their now 40+ year old basement dwellers with them to now live above ground . In their new surroundings they will begin to outright steal from Mom because she is not as sharp as she once was .
Further they will be a nuisance to the retirement community at large as they " take their act " on the road .
Mommie will forever defend her " spawn" who will eventually inherit her house so that he can encourage some of his " Basement Brothers " from the North to join him in the Retirement Community where they will have to run various scams and thefts in order to support their lifestyle .
And all along this road of depravity hard working people who have earned a peaceful retirement in a lovely setting will suffer the consequences .
And finally let`s not forget the " Section 8 Housing " invasion which is one of the last major agenda items left on Mr. O`s list of major social re-engineering initiatives .

That is the BIG one that WILL destroy the villages. It'll be a whole different place once that starts to happen.

NOW you know why the KKK and other groups did their bast to "persuade" minorities to move elsewhere.

It's what we should do, but we won't, we're too "polite". We'll suffer the fate of the Native Americans, we'll be slowly driven out. Please work to keep this last holdout of Normal Rockwell's America.

Travel light and move frequently. When you don't like the neighborhood, move to the next decent place. Once there are no more free countries, move to the best socialist country that is still half way decent, such as Australia. Eventually, you will run out of time, and it will no longer matter.
