Smile What was your major?

By popular demand, actually it was only uujudy who demanded, here is a place to let us know your major in college, or what you studied in tech school, or what trade you trained for. You know what we're after.

And let's go a step further. What ended up being your work field, profession or trade?

I majored chemistry. Ultimately no degree.

Ended up as a newspaper editor, then computer systems analyst.

Default Secretary

Only a high school graduate with training as a secretary, but it supported me as a single mom living in one of the most upscale cities in Miami-Dade County.

I've worked for several "distinguished" bosses.... one was the head of the UTD schoolteacher's union, another was a famous local baseball coach for the University of Miami, another was a very honored meteorologist at RSMAS University of Miami and my last job was sec'y to local Chiefs of Police

I have a bachelor degree in business administration, and worked in the retail industry. I was a store manager for many years, buyer for a chain of stores, merchandise manager for a chain of superstores, and I also owned my own store. I eventually went to the other side and worked as a sales rep calling on retail accounts.

Doctorate in Public Administration. Worked as an administrator for the State of New Jersey and in that capacity for 40 years, I met most of the crooked politicians from the Governor's office, down.

Arrow Me and Sarah, You betcha!

I majored in Journalism and I still can't spell and ended up working as copywriter, then Creative Head for a large Ad Agency in Chicago. Advertising is where you throw Grammar rules completely out the window!

Psychology (child), English (Shakespeare) minor. I did put my degree to good use -- I worked as a legal secretary for 30+ years.

I bet I can top on who earned their degree the latest... I received my BS in Biology, Ecology and Conservation option, June 2008!

I am currently working on a term field study testing the effects of California red-legged frog migration through man-made culverts. I'm also in the process of looking into some habitat restoration projects.

My biggest concern about moving to TV is whether I will be able to find any type of outdoor biology work in the area. I really just got started and am not ready to give up. However, my DH is retired and ready to move NOW!

One of our friends told me I was the luckiest person he knew since it appears I may go straight from earning a college degree right into retirement.

I was a music education major in college. Then went to law school and practiced law for 31 years. In 2003 I became associated with Usana Health Sciences, and transitioned out of law to help people build their own economic stimulus packages.

BS in Business Admin, then MS in Systems Management.

14 years in the military with specialities in telecommunications and computers. Got out and went to work for a large insurance company in their computer department but stayed in the Reserves.

When I got my BS, I had been taking ROTC so I got commissioned into the Army. While stationed in Hawaii, I earned my MS degree at Army expense.

All my life I've done volunteer work in my community, primarily as a volunteer Firefighter (27 years) and a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician. I was a state certified instructor for both EMS and Firefighting and taught many classes in my home state. Still doing volunteer work today in TV - Hospital Auxiliary, CERT, Seniors Vs Crime and for the DAV.

You can hold the title for a little bit but I'll get my nursing degree in April 2009 (knock on some wood)!

Back in the seventies I was a computer science major - I have worked in that field since then. I hope to retiree from that by the end of this year and then become a critical care nurse if the market permits.
