Default Gary & Diane

Me-Business Administration. Majority of my working life has been in property appraisal. Partially retired since 2004. I work 20 hrs a week.

The lovely Diane-Wildlife Biology. She is a computer systems administrator (she works with the Unix operating system).

Diane hopes to retire from system management in 2012 and work part-time at a less stressful job.

I hope to continue working until 2016 when I will hang it up for good at 66yrs old.

There are Community Colleges in each County in Florida as well. Google each of these and you'll see the possibilities.
Wow, thank you for being so thoughtful!!! People on this board never cease to amaze me. I've Googled for federal government jobs in the area, but not some of the other options.

Again, thank you I'm off to Google right now.

Default I'm Surrounded By Geniuses

Y'all make me feel ignorant. I'm glad I'm surrounded by intellectual folks. Maybe someone can help me figure out the irrigation programmer thingy.

I majored in girls, recess, alcohol, drugs.... never inhaled though. Too much.

Art major with minor in Genetics. Didn't find the anthropology department (where I should have been all along) until it was time to graduate.

My daughter's college counselor in HS had a fun exercise for the parents called "Name the Major." He presented us with a list of important people and a multiple choice list of their possible majors. Almost none of them had a career that had anything to do with their college majors -- kind of like this forum.

On the job training at the S & S law school of higher education.
Learned to be a fiduciary accountant (of all things).
Had a very interesting and successful career in trust and estate taxation.
Part time now, but about to turn in my pencil in a few weeks.

Graduated in 1964 with a major in Industrial Engineering but never worked a day as an Engineer. Found out that I hated Motion/Time Study so started my career in Materials Management which eventually lead to a 30 year career in software consulting. Go figure!!!
