Regardless of her guilt, this is a huge tragedy from beginning to end. Casey should have been allowed to give the baby up for adoption as she wanted to. The grandmother never should have forced her to be a mother -- she wasn't capable of being one. Now, we have an innocent who died, a young woman whose life is destroyed and grandparents who are grieving not only the loss of their grandchild but the loss of their daughter's freedom.
We are not the judge nor the jurors. It is not up to us to judge. Leave that in the hands of those who will be forced to hear all of the sordid, sad details.

Red.
You are kinder than I am. I get the feeling after watching the tapes on TV that Casey Anthony does/did pretty much what she wanted to do. I think her parents spoiled her and she surely was born with a sociopathic personality. I think her parents were troubled with her and covered for her for a long time. She was going to be murderess whether it was her own child or another person who got in her way of what SHE wanted, be it a good time or satisfying her sexual appetite. |

I'm with you GG. Anyone that can hurt or kill a child, not to mention their own child ... I'd take a front row ticket to see them fry!

What about a front row ticket to find out what would make some do that?? I am sure there is so much more that we dont know about. And if you believe what you hear in the media 100% then you might issues. I am with Red on this one. Very well put Red.....

The other thing that bothers me is that there are truly innocent people accused of something, scrambling for legal defense because they cannot afford it, while someone like this gets the best because it's in all the papers. Lawyers step up Pro Bono and it makes me sick. Just like O.J or Scott Peterson. I find peace in my belief that there is Divine Retribution. O.J. is feeling that now. Casey will feel it one way or another. This is an emotional subject, so I'll just say, sorry, but this is a waste of taxpayers money and in my opinion, Casey Anthony is just a waste of space on this planet, if she is indeed the guilty.

Now Casey's father is in the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. He drove to Daytona and was texting the family that he was going to commit suicide. The police traced his cell phone signal and found him before he accomplished the deed, along with an 8 page suicide note.
I think the whole family needs a psych evaluation. Whew. What a bunch.

I'm truly hoping that we'll find that the death itself was not a deliberate murder but rather occurred out of stupidity and, yes, selfishness and arrogance. I honestly put more of the blame on the grandmother than anyone else. Casey was forced to have and keep a child she truly didn't want to keep in her mother's good graces. Had Caylee been given up for adoption, she would still be alive. Of course, the grandmother will never go on trial. Casey will.
Does she deserve to be punished for the death of her child? Yes. Does she deserve to hung by her short hairs for dumping that poor baby in a swamp? You better believe it! Does she deserve all the vitriol and hatred being tossed her way? I honestly don't know. I don't know the facts. If she deliberately killed the baby, yes. If it was an accident or done out of stupidity, no. Regardless, the entire family deserves some pity, too. And, yes, that includes Casey. Obviously, Caylee for being borne to a woman who didn't want her and didn't have a clue how to be a loving parent. For the grandfather who really does seem clueless about all that has gone on. For the grandmother for the loss of her beloved grandchild. For Casey for being forced into a role she had no clue how to handle and certainly did not want. As to calling her a sociopath, I don't think so. She's more than likely borderline. Either way, they are mental illnesses recognized as such by the professionals. No, they are not legal defenses since right from wrong is known and understood by one suffering from either of these illnesses. They can, however, be used for mitigating circumstances. Do any of you really think someone would deliberately become a sociopath or have a personality disorder?

I can't begin to understand how anybody could make that bright and beautiful little girl into a throwaway child. She sounded so much like our granddaughter when she was little who also called her grandfather "papa", that each time the tape is played that she says "Are you tired Papa" my husband physically cringes and I can't help the tears from coming. Even in the latest pictures released of Caylee as a newborn, her eyes are so aware and she is really, really beautiful! (a lot of newborns are not) Casey would have to be abnormal in some respect not to bond with this lovely child. She must have felt some jealousy when her parents obviously adored her baby. It is so sad and so.......upsetting. No matter how hard I try to understand, I get angry!

One thing i will say it is that, It is a tragedy that something like this happened. Why it happened we will never know. What could make someone do that, we will never know. watching Channel 9 they make Casey out to be a party animal with no cares in the world while her daughter is gone.
I feel for George her dad. Not only is the little one gone, but they almost lost him from what it sounds. I could only imagine having to deal with the stress he has and his wife. No one wants to believe that their daughter could do that. so you have to fight for her. Then when you realize she could be that horrible person the media is making her out to be, it has to rip your insides out..... During this whole deal, I always told people at work that channel 9 was making this into a circus. I know other channel were there, and i blame them also. is it that important that everyone go home at night in time for the 6 o'clock news and watch people fight outside the Anthony's home. I can understand why the mom and dad are feeling like they are. That is something you never want to believe, that your child is the monster the new says she is. I still have questions about this meter reader, and now Deputies are facing punishment and being releived of duty. Something is wrong there. |

I feel deeply sorry for the parents of Casey Anthony. They lost their adored granddaughter. And I'm sure they feel partially responsible for Caylee's fate. I'm not surprised the dad is suicidal. Their lives right now are a living hell.
As much as they try to believe in Casey's innocence, I'm sure in their hearts they realize the truth.

I honestly think the Mom (Casey) is sociopathic. She is so egocentric that she could go shopping, and committing a felony while shopping, while her toddler is missing. She has no conscience, which, added to the rest of her behaviors and mannerisms, says SOCIOPATH all over her. However, I feel like Red stated. It's all so sad. Surely, Cindy and George knew something was up. They had to know. Yet, they continue to let Casey call the shots. Did you see the excerpt where they are talking to Casey in jail, on the phone. Casey was in command, clenching her fist and shaking it at her Mom, totally focused on me, me, me. Cindy and George appear to shudder whenever there is a "Casey tear". It is all so so sad. "Let us not judge", is my motto. We don't know what went on behind closed doors in the Anthony home. Lots of dysfunction in that family. My life doesn't seem all that complicated when I look at a situation like this. Talk about stress!!!!! The mixture of sadness and sociopathy alone make me gasp, not to mention the thought of all those destroyed lives, and a dead toddler.
