We are leaving our car outside during December and January. Looking to buy a good car cover, but have no idea where to buy local or online. Any advice on what needs to be done to car while it sits idle? Thanks in advance.

I did this up North, and while the car cover did what was advertised, the wind and movement of the cover over several sections of the car actually rubbed off the paint!! So, IMHO, you might want to consider covered storage, we used the storage facility on 441 (Fruitland park), about 1/2 mile North of 441. If I recall correctly, it was $110/month. This is a fraction of the cost of touching up paint.
Hope this helps. PS our cover was over $100, not cheap, it kept the car dry and clean, but I never considered the constant rubbing from the wind.

I have a 1996 vehicle which has been stored outside under cover for at least 15 years including 6.5 years here. I get my covers from California Car Cover. They have several grades/styles and provide a comparison of the various styles. I usually buy a mid priced cover. No paint rubbing issues for me.

For two months. I would just disconnect the battery and leave it on the drive.
We leave our car a lot longer in UK during the winter, whilst staying at the TV's, with no ill effects. Our son in law does run it for an hour with air con on occasionally, to remove any humidity /damp build up. Works for us. |

We leave a older Mercury Grand Marquis outside for 9 months at a time in California with a car cover on it and the battery disconnected with no problems. Runs great in the summer.

Put a can of fuel stabilizer in the tank. Probably dont even need to disconnect the battery. We have friends/family that leave their cars in a similar fashion for months on end, and have never had a problem with a dead battery. Perhaps you have a neighbor you trust who can come over and start it once a week.
