Default Shooters World Details

The location at 44A and Powell Road will be named Powell Plaza. Shooters World will have vehicle access from 44A and golf cart access at the southeast corner. There will also be a separate retail building facing Powell Road.

Thank you for this information. Our house backs up to the trees in the picture. We were wondering if they were going to cut them down. It appears they will be left untouched and nothing will be behind us, which is why we bought this house.

I'm wondering how difficult to get a concealed carry permit in TV?

The Straight Shooters Club in The Villages goes regularly to the Tampa store. I'm guessing they have bought hundreds of guns there.

It's not a question of in TV, it's a State mandated law/requirement that has to be met. I think the Tax Collection office at Pinellas now processes Concealed Carry paperwork. You will need to either take a basic handgun course or have a copy of your honorable discharge papers from one of the Military branches, fill out the paperwork, get fingerprinted and have a background check done. Easy peasy! Search on-line for the actual requirements and to start the process.

Never been to a Shooters World. Is the range just for handguns?

The one in Tampa also has indoor rifle range. As a member of the gun club here in the Villages I have bought several guns from them. They treat us well on prices.

I buy most of my guns on line--no sales tax--just have the gun shipped to a FFL-Iuse Nordic Pawn in Wildwood, also if you have a DD214--you don't have to take the class for a CCW permit

From the drawings that Champions6 attached, it looks like about (7) 100 yd. lanes and about (20-30) 25yd.+ lanes. Looks like it is smaller than the Tampa range which was built in a Circuit City Retail building, but it should be better than anything else around here, plus golf cart accessible.

I got my Florida concealed permit in 2012 and there were 900,000 permits in Florida at that time and 19 million people, so roughly 1 in every 20 people had a concealed weapon. I just searched and found there is now 1.7 million concealed permits in Florida and population is at 21 million, so that makes about 1 in every 13 people have a concealed weapon.

I always said that's why you don't see those mass shootings in Florida because so many of the citizens are armed, they always pick states that have strict gun laws like California, Connecticut, New York, etc. The one time there was a mass shooting in Florida was at the Pulse nightclub, a bar or nightclub which is one of the places you're not allowed to take your concealed weapon. Had it been a mall or the square, might of been a different outcome, but that's the way most of those shooters are, they pick innocent unarmed civilians.

You now can get all your paperwork, fingerprints, photos and application done in one place if you live in Sumter County. In the Gold Dome building on Powell Rd next to Pinellas Plaza, but you'll need an appointment. Here's a link for the details. As someone already posted, if you have a DD214 for military service you can skip the classroom.
