Default Tacking to the Left

I find it amusing my Trump supporting neighbors have not noticed the anticipated, by some of us, tack to the left. Cleverly disguised as a conservative the Trumpser is doing the only thing any politician does to get ratings up, continue to drive the debt up. It has been proven a winner over and over. Many in this forum still parrot the "if we cut taxes we will generate more than enough revenue to pay down the debt". That is ignorance IMHO. Although I am now a Florida resident I don't understand how one of the richest states in the nation has rely on the federal government for financial assistance for a storm. The same can be said for Texas. There is very little oversight of federal deficiet spending as it does not have to be paid back, at least not by us. Maybe we can elect a conservative next time.

That is one view.

How about he is baiting the Shummer/Pelosi no to everything that is not heirs while at the same time baiting the similar type republicans McConnel/McCain/et al.

I would bet he is playing them both and as a result will get more done than either one or any of the establishment, party first, crony politicians on either side.

Donald Trump does whatever is good for Donald Trump and family. He has no allegiance to party values or to much of any other ethics except what is in it for me.

He is the swamp though as far as I can see.

"Party Values"! There's an oxymoron. Sort of like JUMBO SHRIMP / CLEARLY CONFUSED. How the word VALUES can remotely be associated with out current political staff on either side is beyond believability.

There are well meaning politicians in both parties as well as Independents. These do have values. Most of the news except Breibart and sometimes FOX are not fake news sources. Donald Trump is looking out for his own interests for the most part as has all his life.

How much longer can we afford to bail out cities that build 50 feet above sea level and then put thousands of miles of pavement on top of floodplains? How much money are we going to throw at people who deny climate science and rebuild over and over in hurricane zones? That chemical plant which exploded near Houston was the result of Texas politicians taking half a million dollars to fight safety rules of the EPA. Texas won’t use their own disaster relief fund and doesn’t deserve a dime of our money.

Well Mell, we are still waiting for your response to retail, swamp filling, and homes that do not meet IECC 2012 or IECC 2016 codes...

But here you are asking for more restrictions AFTER your home has been completed.

Of course, Texas does not deserve a dime from you, and you certainly don't deserve a dime from Texas - right?

I hope people see that Global Warming is something that is quite real. And we can do something about it if we act together rather than always seeming so divided unless we are right in the muck. Then we pull together.

Even if this is somehow cyclical we can ameliorate the impact.

What does "Global Warming" have to do with storms? No, actually what do humans have to do with these storms? Tell me how we can "pull together" to change the weather.

I'm not sure about global warming but I'm about uncontrolled deficiet spending that we don't have the willpower to stop. The rush to spend money we will not pay back is almost a given. To the poster whom stated this shift to the left by Trump was a shrewdly thought out strategy and an example of his brilliance you are completely delusional.

I agree that Trump just re-acts as best he can to any given situation. Bet he is still as surprised as many of us just that he won the Electoral College Election. If not for James Comey's ill-timed announcement into Anthony Weiner's e-mail account, Hillary Clinton would have easily won both the popular and the Electoral College votes.

The science above is all speculation by PHD's to keep them out of the soup kitchens. There is no fact to back up man made climate change theories. The air is cleaner than it was fifty years ago and we still have climate changes in cycles. We have had periods of tropical weather and we have had the ice age. None of that was caused by man.
If you liberals want to concentrate on hocus pocus then go for it. Just don't force the rest of the folks that live with common sense to live your fantasy about how you are going to change the weather, by being vegetarians and by eliminating fossil fuels. If you want fact, go to the military website that has stats from their equipment in the poles that show that the ice has been melting from below and that the water is getting warmer based on underwater volcanoes and earth quakes. Those are scientists also, in case you want to disparage it because of them being part of the armed forces.
