Default Right-wing fascists at it again

The Republican't party of NO couldn't get their points about the military policies of the democratically elected party in power across on the merits, so they have now stooped to saying that someone, "should put Nancy Pelosi in her place."

Would anyone on this board NOT be insulted if someone told you that, "you should put your wife in her place"?

And how would your wife react!?

How low will they go?

A few quotes from Pelosi.,..

"It takes a woman to clean House." (2006 CNN interview)

Is this the same Pelosi who said some very evil things the past 3/4 years, but she said something good also. She said that she was going to clean up the House.....guess that only applies to one party as 8 of the 10 being investigated are Democrats !

I note also that SHE, NANCY PELOSI is the SINGLE ONLY one complaining and that all comments about her were pretty clear cut and based on her JOB, not her sex.

So, lets see...if you criticize the President, you are racist....if you crticize the Speaker of the House, you are a sexist ! Great system huh

Good point, but I'd point out that Pelosi's comment was more of a pun about her role than a slur to herself. Most everyone is also sensitive to the reality that it's ok to slur someone within one; own ethnic/social/gender or religious group, but often considered an insult when spoke as an outsider. Having a "man" put "her" in her place is more akin to having a master put slave into his place than a pun on one's own expense.

Still, not a bad comparison.

It is the “right wing fascists” line that gets me. You do realize that the far left are much more closely related to the fascists or Spain, Germany and Italy of the 1930s and 1940s. Both believed in centralized planning including the nationalization of large parts of the economy. In fact there is a pretty good book on this subject called, “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg. Here is some of the blurb

Quote:
Contrary to what most people think, the Nazis were ardent socialists (hence the term “National socialism”). They believed in free health care and guaranteed jobs. They confiscated inherited wealth and spent vast sums on public education. They purged the church from public policy, promoted a new form of pagan spirituality, and inserted the authority of the state into every nook and cranny of daily life. The Nazis declared war on smoking, supported abortion, euthanasia, and gun control. They loathed the free market, provided generous pensions for the elderly, and maintained a strict racial quota system in their universities—where campus speech codes were all the rage. The Nazis led the world in organic farming and alternative medicine. Hitler was a strict vegetarian, and Himmler was an animal rights activist.

Why do you think the European Countries are beginning to vote out the Fascists?

The answer is simple: the Fascists are liberals with socialist agendas.
Europe is beginning to elect conservatives because they are tired of big unsuccessful Government along with their loss of individual rights.

By the way I have never heard of a Republican who was a Fascist.

A Fascist is one who wants a big centralized and sometimes autocratic Government.

Republicans and Right Wingers want just the opposite hence the changes taking place in Europe which are just the opposite of the changes Obama is pushing on us.

Yes, I am tired of being called a fascist when the person making the charge has not the faintest idea of what a fascist is. This tactic is right out of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.

Quote:
RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

I thought the thread was about the incorrect use of the word "fascist".

Got it !

New rules...

The TITLE is the onlything that counts from now on...

The actual thoughts of the person starting the thread and typing is totally non relevant !

Excuse me....non relevant is incorrect...."just drival" is the correct term !

C'mon guys, chill. When one hears/reads a comment. multiple aspects of that comment can strike you as the most critical, most fallacious, most troublesome, most demanding of further comment. Take, for example, the simple declarative sentence "Obama awarded Nobel Prize for Peace." Straightforward, only 6 words long, yet it can instigate at least three different emotions. The first, of course, could be that this action just follows the Carter/Gore awards in demonstrating the degradation of the award, A second could be that once again, Mr. Obama has gained a position without demonstrating any qualifications, experience, or expertise. Or a third alternative among the totally obtuse could be that Mr. Obama has yet again received the credits that he so well deserves.

In the case of this thread, Number 6 takes great exception to the subject, "Right-wing fascists at it again." This is evidently a subject that tends to burn her/his butt a bit hotter than most (we all have them) and he/she has ample proof to demonstrate the ignorance of the original poster and his banal catch phrase. Bucco, on the other hand, ignores the fascist comment and zeros in on Pelosi, always a rich target of opportunity, albeit generally low-hanging fruit. So, you can see that your comments are not conflicting, but simply splitting the thread into two paths. Note that Chelsea even splits it into a third path -- SURPRISE! The Bush Administration -- but it's pretty much ignored.

Actually that's pretty neat to have a thread that can be split into several diverse, distinct subtopics that can each maintain a life, but it can get quite confusing.
